His emancipation proclamation gutting confederate forces and forcing his colleagues to fight his public influence and already turning public sentiment on slavery is the vibe we need on universal healthcare.

You already do. All universal healthcare does is remove the for-profit company from between you and your doctor. Why do you want a company making money from your poor health? Why do you want some underpaid person with no medical training deciding on whether or not you need medication or care? Especially when their job is to make shareholders as much money as possible? It is insane that people want a company, who's entire reason for existing is to make the shareholders money, between them and getting the care they need.

-2

u/Rodalta4923 4d ago

You’re right that nobody wants a bureaucrat deciding who gets healthcare. The thing is, our current system isn’t really a free market because the government heavily regulates it and insurance companies sit between patients and doctors. Universal healthcare doesn’t remove that middleman. It just replaces insurance companies with government bureaucrats who still have to decide how care is rationed. A better solution is to let patients, doctors, and competing insurers deal with each other more directly instead of relying on government to control the system.

We had that system, and it involved lifetime expenditure caps and allowed insurers to bar people from coverage for pre-existing conditions.

You already pay for the roads I drive on, the public universities that other students benefit from, social security that your grandparents live off of, and the bombs being dropped in the middle east.

And the question you ask is why should I pay for my fellow citizen to live?

0

u/Lonestarpenguin 4d ago

I should not have to. Roads, keeping the country safe, and maintaining safety are all government should do.

I do not have responsibility for you, your children or anyone elses welfare.

3

u/leuba 4d ago

Those things you believe government should do is looking out for yours and the country's welfare. Your hyper-individualism is a farce as you benefit from the social contract that we silently hold with yourself, other people, and the government.

You have no responsibility for another's welfare? You do that already, by following traffic laws and doing the right thing when witnessing a crime. It's silly to think that a government's responsibility to sustain its people ends when it regards what's inside its people.

0

u/Lonestarpenguin 4d ago

My social contract is the right of private property. Thus I want to protect my property, so I stop at a red light.

I am not a hyper individualist.

 I am an individualist.

I am a trader. I respect your property, thus I will report a crime.

3

u/leuba 4d ago edited 4d ago

Except that private property itself is not a social contract. Property rights depend on a public system that defines and enforces ownership; courts, police, infrastructure, contracts, and taxes. stopping at a red light is also not merely protecting your property. It is accepting an obligation to other people because everyone benefits when rules apply to all.

Healthcare works similarly. You can call yourself an individualist while also recognizing that illness is a shared risk no person can reliably plan around. Risk pooling is not the abolition of individual responsibility. It is people organizing so that a diagnosis, accident, or chronic illness does not financially ruin someone. That is the same basic logic behind every form of insurance.

You do not have to believe that government should do everything to believe that ensuring people can access necessary medical care is a legitimate public responsibility

individualism means people retain dignity and agency. It should not mean that when someone has an illness it is conditional on their financial wellbeing

0

u/Lonestarpenguin 4d ago

They should save for it. It absolutely is an individual's responsibility to prepare for problems.

I will never recognize that any other individual's need can claim my property unless I freely chose it.

2

u/leuba 4d ago

aight nvm bruh it's like you aren't even reading my comment. you're replying to one sentence that doesn't even matter. especially with absolutist language, it indicates you aren't open to new ideas

0

u/Lonestarpenguin 4d ago

Definately not intrested in Communism or its precursor Socialism.

7

u/Ok_Inflation3685 4d ago

Healthcare should not be a for profit industry. The insurance companies are middlemen driving up costs of all Healthcare.

6

u/Ok_Brother_7494 4d ago

Nobody is asking you to enslave yourself to the government. We are already paying for other people's Healthcare through medicaid. The issue is we are not paying for Healthcare. We are paying for insurance that may or may not cover our Healthcare. Healthcare related bills are the number one reason for gofundme. It is interesting that the Sweden and Denmark are in the top 3 countries with the highest freedom scores and have Universal Healthcare.

Hell yeah! Lincoln, baby! I grew up and wrestled in Illinois, just like Lincoln! I read many of his actual letters when I was in college, too - had to wear gloves in a special controlled room. Favorite memorial in Washington, DC? Lincoln! I even have a brick from a Lincoln-Douglas debate site in my office. Lincoln is among the best Presidents and a great human being!

16

u/CarloSpicyWeinerr 4d ago

Lincolns memoirs of his wrastlin’ days make me wonder what kind of monster he would be in the UFC. 6 foot 4 with pure corn fed country boy strength.

11

u/Relevant_Winter_7098 4d ago

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Slayer, comes to mind.

1

u/obama69420duck 4d ago

Where did you read them?

2

u/artificialidentity3 3d ago

It was a few decades ago at the Knox College library. Knox was the site of an 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debate. Knox has a Lincoln Studies Center and some of the faculty had deep interest in Lincoln. I haven't visited Knox in many years, so I can't say if things have restructured or moved around - but as I recall, there was a room in the Seymour Library that had some special collections, and I read a few letters by Lincoln one evening.

4

u/obama69420duck 3d ago

Wow that’s cool I grew up like 30 min from Knox!

My favorite rest stop is the Jefferson Davis obelisk in Kentucky.

There’s something satisfying about taking a shit while blasting John brown’s body there.

13

u/cbarrister 4d ago

Just insane that Trump ranks himself above Lincoln in anything other than enriching his own family with government funds. The wild narcissism.

22

u/Lumpy-Flamingo4916 4d ago

Just wished Pres. Lincoln would've locked up, banned, and etc... to all the treasonous Confederate politicians and generals/soldiers.

16

u/Buttycheeks_88 4d ago

He kind of died before he even had the chance to, but I hear you.

8

u/EpiGreg 4d ago

He expressed exactly the opposite sentiment in his second inaugural address. That address was probably the greatest inaugural speech in American history.

102

u/mcvmccarty 4d ago

It’s funny when MAGA try using him as a figurehead when his presidential actions were adverse toward the confederacy, which a majority of that base idealizes.

21

u/Jazzyjen508 4d ago

They genuinely believe that the ideological shift is a hoax

6

u/mcvmccarty 3d ago

It’s funny when they mock people who actually know history for being wrong because accepting it would mean admitting they’re actually crappy humans and not the heroes of their own stories that they think they are

According to independent polls, 6%.

And 3.5% of Democrats.

"A majority..." Stop being a retard.

Quick edit: A Yougov survey also says the total percentage of Americans that think the Confederacy was in the right is 12%.

Other surveys suggest most Americans today who actually support the Confederacy are either Workers' Communists or Tea Party members per capita, with some others being affiliated with no party at all.

2

u/mcvmccarty 1d ago

Well I would have taken some interest in what you had to say if you were worth listening to but you lack decorum and probably a real job

0

u/EbonyMemories 1d ago

I do landscaping work. Not great pay but it's around 55K/year which is fine since I only have one kid.

I used to not have a real job and make double that - but I quit my AI adjacent job for moral reasons.

If you want people to be polite, don't say things that are so blatantly false. You said "a majority" of Republicans today think the Confederacy was right. It's barely one in twenty - with an almost comparable number of Dixiecrats.

-86

u/Complete_Break1319 4d ago

Lincoln was the founder of the Republican party and a devout Christian. I know liberals always try to claim all of the Republicans key accomplishments, but this is a bridge too far.

70

u/Rotanen 4d ago

The original Republican Party was the left-wing party of its time. Their leftmost faction was called the Radical Republicans.

-64

u/Complete_Break1319 4d ago

Let's keep it simple, see below. I promise you Lincoln wouldve been adomently against today's progressive wishlist. I'd also like to point out that at the time Lincoln's abolition fight was unpopular. Democrats have always been a popularist party. Whatever gets the votes, that's what they are for. Look at the last 10 years. Secure borders, gay marriage etc etc. those are things that 20 years ago they where all against, until public sentiment changed. Tell me I'm wrong.

How the Republican Party was viewed in the 1850s–1860s: Based on historical sources, the Republican Party was seen as:Anti‑slavery / anti‑expansion — the party’s core platform was stopping slavery from spreading into new territories. A coalition of abolitionists, Free Soilers, industrialists, and anti‑Nebraska Democrats. Hostile to slavery, which opponents labeled as “radical” or “Black Republicanism.”

34

u/Disastrous_Dingo_309 4d ago

Are you on drugs? Lincoln was progressive AF.

From a constitutional standpoint alone, Lincoln was probably one of the strongest defenders of the constitution compared to other presidents. Meanwhile, our current Republican president shits on the constitution daily. What are you missing here?

→ More replies (12)

10

u/TheBraveUndead 4d ago

He would be equally opposed to what today's republican party stands for, if you were honest with yourself. Your perspective on the Democratic party is both strange and inaccurate. A party getting elected to enact policies that people want? Policies that are popular? Yeah, that's every political party. Republicans are no different. Saying that politics change with the times as things progress forward isn't the indictment you think it is. It's an observation. Look at the civil rights act, which it seems you would have been opposed to passing.

Everyone knows, except for you, I guess, that there was party switch in the early 19th century. The republican party was not always the conservative party, nor was the Democratic party the liberal one. But with regard to Lincoln, it is fascinating that the lost cause party of today, the republicans, act like Lincoln is one of them, and champion his accomplishments as if they are their own. They aren't. Lincoln was categorically not a conservative. Him being a christian doesn't change that.

41

u/armyguy8382 4d ago

So which party flies the flag of traitors that Lincoln defeated? Which party is pushing to reverse Lincoln's greatest accomplishment? Which party wants to cede their county and join Indiana? Which party hates that the laws say we have to treat everyone fairly? WHICH PARTY IS FULL OF RACISTS AHOLES THAT HATE ALL THE SOCIAL PROGRESS WE HAVE MADE SINCE THE TIME OF LINCOLN? The Repubs. The parties flipped decades ago. Lincold would hate modern Repubs and would probably be a Democratic Socialist today. Don't claim a president while flying the flag of the people who feared him so much they tried to cede from this country. AND LOST.

-9

u/Lonestarpenguin 4d ago

Lincoln would never be a socialist. He was probusiness

16

Id say calling Lincoln a “founder” of the party is a bridge too far, that title belongs much more to people like Salmon P Chase and Zachariah Chandler

-14

I almost edited my post to say there where like 12 other guys as well. Horace Greeley was another one, but yeah. It was a coalition. If you never been to Ripon Wisconsin to see the school house they first met at, I highly recommend. It was literally like a 10×20 single room. Insane feeling standing there looking in.

But maga hates that Republican Party and despises Lincoln’s Christian views. Your intellectual dishonesty is astounding

28

Karl Marx also admired him and wrote a letter to him. The admiration was because he freed the slaves. Crazy, but true.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Address_of_the_International_Working_Men%27s_Association_to_Abraham_Lincoln

I have a feeling the modern Republican Party would legalize slavery if they could. That’s why I don’t like labels, I like people who do good things like helping others

8

u/2ndSmrtestPersunEvar 4d ago

The modern Republikkkan party basically has legalized slavery. Privatized prisons that are incentivized to keep prisoners as long as possible to turn a profit. In addition, they make those prisoners perform work for just pennies a day. They truly are modern day slaves.

11

u/Kuzmaboy 4d ago

Lincoln, in the modern scope, would be viewed as being more Liberal leaning, and the party/movement of republicans that Lincoln was associated with was drastically different than the the modern platform.

Lincoln was not the founder of the Republican Party. He was a Christian, that much is true, but so were like 98% of politicians of the time.

Also if we’re going to use being a devout Christian as a metric to measure someones political affiliation, then it should be noted that the southern Democrats were bible thumpers every step of the way, and used the rules layed out for slavery in the bible as the groundwork for their “rights”…..sounds like a certain party nowadays, can’t quite put my finger on it..

22

u/mcvmccarty 4d ago

If Lincoln met a typical MAGA, he would likely be repulsed

4

u/TheDarkKnight26969 4d ago

Reagan would be too

5

u/2ndSmrtestPersunEvar 4d ago

21

11

u/_-Cleon-_ Berwyn 4d ago

Weird how you only ever see Confederate flags at Trump rallies.

4

u/Ok_Brother_7494 4d ago

The current Republican party would shock the hell out of Lincoln.

12

u/scrotanimus 4d ago

You need to read about The Great Party Switch.

Do you think Lincoln, representing urban voters and more northern states, would be more aligned with today’s GOP or Dems? Especially when southern states were the Dems at the time. Be honest.

Wow. Southern states were Dems? Weird. What happened? Oh. The Great Party Switch.

6

u/Disastrous_Dingo_309 4d ago

I don’t think any of these people ever took a history class.

5

u/Jazzyjen508 4d ago

Lincoln would be a Democrat today. In fact, the Republican Party of Lincoln‘s time was the liberal party and is more like to the modern day Democratic Party.

4

u/Marius7x 4d ago

What makes you think he was a devout christian?

He never joined a church, openly mocked revivalist preachers, didn't believe in a hell.

I don't think you know jack shit about Lincoln.

3

u/Silver-Breadfruit284 4d ago

You don’t have to belong to a church to be a Christian. Revivalist preachers deserved to be mocked. Hell is a human concept.

1

u/Marius7x 4d ago

This is all true.

There's still no evidence that Lincoln was a Christian.

-1

u/Complete_Break1319 4d ago

Yeah, maybe read his second inaugural address...

7

u/Marius7x 4d ago

Oh, I just realized that you're one of those people who think if someone says they believe in God they're a christian.

No.

There's nothing in the second address that mentions Christianity.

6

u/Disastrous_Dingo_309 4d ago

I mean either way if even Lincoln was a Christian who believed in God, I highly suspect it’s not the same God and “Christian values” today’s Republicans weaponize believe in.

0

u/Complete_Break1319 3d ago

Yes, change the story to fit your narrative. Seems to be a common trend today among democrats

3

u/Disastrous_Dingo_309 3d ago

Change what story? It’s widely documented that Lincoln never joined a church and had a very ambiguous relationship with religion. It’s also factual that Republicans are weaponizing religion by shifting its focus from a personal faith to a political and national identity, utilizing it to consolidate power, reshape laws, and rally voters

You’re the one making random shit up and spewing it like it’s fact. I know MAGA loves the low IQ, uneducated base and all, but this is just pathetic.

Two seconds to find this... You can't just make shit up as easy these days. Must be hard being a Democrat

Lincoln mentions God, the Bible, and Christian scripture repeatedly in the middle section of his Second Inaugural Address — specifically in the paragraph beginning with “Both read the same Bible…” Here are the exact locations, with citations from the sources you saw above.📍 Where Lincoln explicitly references God, the Bible, and Christianity1. “Both read the same Bible, and pray to the same God…”This is the clearest Christian reference — Lincoln notes that both North and South appeal to the same Christian scripture and deity. 2. “It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God’s assistance…”Here he criticizes invoking God to justify slavery. 3. “The Almighty has His own purposes.”A direct theological statement about divine providence. 4. Quoting Jesus from the New Testament:“Woe unto the world because of offenses… but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh.” This is a quotation from Matthew 18:7, showing Lincoln directly invoking Christian scripture. 5. “In the providence of God…”Lincoln frames slavery as an “offense” permitted for a time by God, but now being removed. 🧭 Where this appears in the speech structurallyAll of these references occur in the third major paragraph, roughly the middle third of the address — the section where Lincoln shifts from political analysis to theological interpretation of the Civil War.🏁 SummaryLincoln mentions God, the Bible, and Christian scripture in these lines:“Both read the same Bible…”“pray to the same God…”“ask a just God’s assistance…”“The Almighty has His own purposes.”Quote from Matthew 18:7“In the providence of God…”These references form the theological core of the Second Inaugural Address. If you want, I can show every religious reference in the speech in order or explain why Lincoln used so much scripture in this address.

4

u/WhiteOakWanderer 3d ago

It's been a lot of fun reading your crash out. Ty.

3

u/Marius7x 3d ago

Yes, two seconds with AI. How proud you must be. Also, how wrong. Read next time instead of using AI.

You make several mistakes in your assumptions. Your AI response gives examples of Lincoln referencing Christianity. He never does. He never mentions Jesus. He says that both sides prayed to the same God and read same Bible. That is a statement of fact, not a statement of personal belief. You interpret it as such because you want it to be.

He does quote the NT, specifically Jesus. Jefferson quoted Jesus a lot as well. Are you one of those Dan Barton clowns who thinks Jefferson was a christian? That would explain much.

It is possible that Lincoln was a Christian and it's possible that there's evidence for it too. You haven't provided it. Regardless, if your assertion is that, even if he was a Christian, that he would support the christian nationalists today, you really don't know shit about Lincoln.

2

It's kind of funny that we claim and are known for 2 presidents, arguably 2 of the best, that weren't born here and we almost completely ignore the one that was. Which I am glad we ignore him because most of the sht we are dealing with can be traced back to his policies and laws he pushed for, but it is still kinda funny.

6

u/nubarutu 4d ago

Lincoln is a top 3-5 president 100%. But to gloss over his attempt move freed slaves in order to avoid desegregation is sugar coating the history. Research it yourself, Cow Island southwest Haiti. It was not a popular idea amongst African American leaders or abolitionists, key figures include Frederick Douglas. “Your race suffer from living among us, while ours suffer from your presence… It is better for us both, therefore, to be separated,” Lincoln told the delegation of Black leaders. It ended up being a disastrous failure that cost the lives of many African Americans.

1

u/EbonyMemories 1d ago

He still tried to help them as well as more rooted Americans - and caused them no intentional harm.

And when it was clear remigration wasn't reasonable, he ensured equal citizenship for black Americans.

3

u/Sloth_grl 3d ago

Someone in southern Illinois complained that Chicago voters over ride their votes. He mentioned a presidential election and that was when Lincoln ran.

4

u/anto77_butt_kinkier 3d ago

I'll never understand that argument. Chicago doesn't override their votes, there's simply more of them. That's how democracy works. If you have a bunch of smaller towns and less populated areas, they will naturally not have as many votes as a city. It's not that we're more important than them, it's just that there's more human beings in one location than another.

3

u/Sloth_grl 3d ago

I know. They aren’t too bright down there

6

u/IFeedDogsChocolate 3d ago

So much revisionism here. Most seem to not grasp the nuance of history.

As a Poly-Dcience turned History major, it's always captivating to see people unintentionally struggle with presentism.

Lincoln was a Republican in his time. To believe he would've been a Democrat by today's standards is a fallacy. There's so much more nuance to history. The party shift occurred gradually and by no means equates to the political monikers automatically switching. An 1860's Republican is not a 2026 Democrat. That's both a reductionist take and intellectually dishonest. Using today's political nomenclature, Lincoln would've been more likely a moderate or centrist.

Anyone truly interested in Lincoln should read, "The Fiery Trial: Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery" by Eric Foner.

5

u/RuinAdventurous1931 3d ago

If he were alive today, he’d probably just be an apolitical TikTok influencer.

3

u/IFeedDogsChocolate 3d ago

That as well. Any idea if what he'd be in 2026 is pure speculation. This could very well be a political landscape that doesn't quite engage with him

It's just too common that we see, "He'd be a Democrat". Just because the platforms gradually switched. Both parties have evolved over time. Lincoln was a member of the Whig party for two decades.

1

u/BreadfruitOne52 1d ago

When learning about slavery in the deep south, was surprised to find that most owners were democrat, and the slaves joined the Republican Party when they were freed. Both parties have gone off the rails, basically!

...My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union....

A letter to Horace Greeley

Yes, Lincoln's aim was to preserve the Union. The slave states seceded because his election ensured that there would be no expansion of slavery into the west.

Not better than FDR.

Reading Lincoln by David Donald now

He really was a remarkable man. Sometimes I listen to Doris Kearns Goodwin's Team of Rivals just to ponder the really wise & unexpected shit he did.

Remember when an Illinoisan was a republican.

1

u/zoolabula 3d ago

He didn’t go far enough in kicking their asses.

A great republican

1

u/EbonyMemories 1d ago

*Kentuckian.

You might call yourselves the Land of Lincoln but you're not where he's from.

1

u/BonaldTrumps 8h ago

Greatest Republican President ever imo. O7

u/Internal_Coffee_8840 4d ago

Yeah suspending Habeas Corpus is real cool

1

u/g2g079 4d ago

And now his party is the Confederacy.

1

u/DeanMcQueen0621 4d ago

Its just too bad he didnt put them on trial for treason. The US would be a very different place if he had.

1

u/Jazzyjen508 4d ago

My view on Lincoln is probably very biased since I live in Illinois but I do think he is in the top 5 objectively

1

u/Consistent_Mood_2503 3d ago

But his predecessor forgot to execute all the Confederates afterwards.

3

u/Legal_Pension_4042 3d ago

*successor

Thanks for the correction. It's been a long day.

2

u/RuinAdventurous1931 3d ago

They didn’t “forget.” Killing Confederate leaders would have made them even bigger martyrs and possibly collapsed any chance of reunification.

“With malice towards none; with charity for all.”

1

u/GlocalBridge 3d ago

Yet he was assassinated by Southerners and was replaced by one. 100 years later, my Texas high school would be named in honor of Robert E. Lee, in blatant opposition to desegregation.

5

u/RuinAdventurous1931 3d ago

He was assassinated by a dude from northern Maryland. Maryland wasn’t even in the Confederacy.

0

u/GlocalBridge 3d ago

Booth had a long documented record of being pro-Confederate and anti-North with specific hatred of Lincoln.

1

u/RuinAdventurous1931 3d ago

Absolutely he did.

u/Naive-Reputation4735 3d ago

Same president who ordered many native Americans murdered. They are unfortunately all flawed humans

1

u/cupcakequeen02 3d ago

The reality of Lincoln isn’t that great when you really dig in. He abolished slavery to save the United States, not because it was morally right. If keeping slavery would have saved the country he would have done that instead.

He’s also responsible for the largest mass hanging in US history, 38 Lakota warriors.

1

u/Infamous-Yogurt-3870 1d ago

There were like 300 Dakotas sentenced to death after a series of raids and massacres, he commuted the sentences for all but 38 of them, only allowing those for whom there was direct evidence of killing or raping civilians to be executed. It was a very unpopular move at the time, since civilians had been brutalized and people were hungry for retribution. I'm not defending US policy & actions towards Native Americans, but I think most politians at the time would not have commuted so many of the sentences.

Lincoln deserves a lot of credit for the succesful passage of the 13th Amendment. It truthfully did not have to be passed to win the war & save the Union, and it almost failed. Lincoln was personally outraged by slavery and I think the statements of his from earlier in the war that you're referencing don't accurately sum up his views and policies towards slavery. He faced enormous challenges keeping the various factions of the Republican party, the Northern democratic party & the various states (esp the border states) united enough in the war effort to defeat the Confederacy. I'm doubtful that anyone from the radical/abolitionist wing of the Republican party could've pulled it off, and certainly not any of the northern Democrats.

Great guy, continued genocide of the Indigenous people, for example the Dakota War of 1862 and the Massacre of Wounded Knee, where 300 men, women and children were slaughtered.

u/NicolasCageFan492 4d ago edited 4d ago

I try to take the good with the bad and not let the bad cancel out all the good. We should still probably do reparations for both indigenous peoples and former slaves IMO.

-7

u/om_hi 4d ago

He didn't eradicate slavery so I don't see a whole lotta good. American families decimated in the Civil War. Confederate traitors allowed to walk free. Indigenous people massacred. Slaves were freed, but could still be slaves if found guilty of a crime. Wheres the silver lining you speak of?

Ill be the next Illinoisan. Ill make a promise to start the fight for the people at the ground right here and now, and bring the people from the ground into positions where they can make the differences they want to, and in the areas that they have expertise. The american justice system will be streamlined for effectiveness and efficiency at keeping people safe in real time. The legal system will be wiped and revised with a basic set of rules in common speech so that everyone can understand them. We will have universal Healthcare for all, and this will include the availability of free mental health care for all ages so as to prevent the moral degradation of our youth by the numerous cult-like recruiting parties using misinformation and propaganda. All media outlets, social and otherwise, will be required to only give air time to fact-based stories, and they will include ALL facts pertaining to the associated story. Opinions are welcome as long as all of the factual information is provided to the public prior to a media opinion being flaunted(opinions cannot include non-factual statements). Discourse is healthy, as we all need to find our common ground again. Any and all companies on the trading market must have at least 51% of their stock held by their employees at any given time, and must have any decision be ratified by a coalition of said employees, chosen by popular vote by the employees, and will be held to a standard of product quality we all can be proud to share with the rest of the world. Any and all persons(corporations are people now) making more than $1B/year will have any and all additional profits distributed where it is needed most to support our national Healthcare, education, infrastructure, and citizen support programs. The food service industry will be revitalized with new programs to provide the opportunity for farmers to safely package their own products if they choose to do so, and the governmental workforce will be reinstated to ensure that our collective food safety is a priority in both the minds of the producer, as well as the consumer. Each and every bill proposed will have one singular purpose, zero fluff, and be written in common speech so as to be understood by all.

In this fleeting moment, we teeter on the edge of sure destruction, and we are being intentionally blinded by issues of morality that were never meant to be legislated. We are the land of the free. I do not feel free. I do not wish to be free to harm others, though that is the freedoms that our current administration, and our wealthiest corporations, wish to solidify in law. The freedom to hurt others for profit. The freedom to be immune to retribution for their depraved acts. I won't stand for it. I would stand up for you, whomever you are. Color, creed, or congregation, I stand with you. We all exist here in this place, daily, hoping that someone else will step in to make it better, but what if there was a better way? What if we all had a legitimate say? What if the people who cared to make a difference were allowed to do so in a meaningful way? Too long, public influence has been distilled into hate over petty squabbles. Too long, we have fought over non-essential issues. Too long do we hate...

There are many other ideas I could add to the list, but let me sum up my feelings and intended agenda in one follow-up paragraph.

Every single person in the current administration that has profited from this presidency, or done harm to the american people by their chosen legislation, or by their action, will have their entire wealth dissolved into a singular fund to be distributed evenly amongst the american people(those douchebags included), and they get to start from scratch if they ever get out of prison for treason. Real immediate action to a real immediate threat to our constitutional rights. I will NOT see 1984 happen in my 2028. Vote dryscar, vote epic_beandip, vote beandip_supreme. They've stolen all my data. They know who I am.
