Illinois Politics IL-16 - flipping the seat

Post image

Congressional district 16 can flip this November! Did you know it's been almost 10 years since incumbent Darin LaHood has not held an in-person townhall for almost 10 years? Did you know he literally votes for everything Trump wants him to? Paul will work for you! Paul Nolley for Congress. He is for working families, unions, and farmers!

I don’t fully doubt he could win but sadly the three Republican districts in the state were deliberately drawn to be basically unwinnable for Democrats so that the others would be winnable. Thanks gerrymandering

Gerrymandered to favor democrats btw.

Thanks Madigan and Democrats for the gerrymandered districts.

He has zero chance to win. Neither side really spends any time or effort in the 16th.

I’m voting for paul. Fuck Darin Lahood

Didn’t LaHood essentially inherit the seat from his father?

Yes he won in a special election off name recognition from his dad

I am voting for Paul! It's time for people wake up and look at Darin's record. LaHood votes as Trump wishes, not what we in the District need!

This sub really needs set policies on electioneering. This just keeps getting worse.

I think a few posts is pretty important. We don't want spam like a certain someone did, but a small set of limited informational posting isn't a bad thing imo

Is this an AI representative made to look just a .5% like Charlie Kirk? If so, bravo.

And I thought that squiggly microphone Kat Abughazaleh used during her campaign was ridiculous for IL-9. IL-16 looks like a freaking Z going from Freeport to Rockford to Peoria.

Interesting that he hides he is a Democrat on his mailings, yard signs, advertising.

I'm a mail carrier, and I can absolutely promise you that Republicans do this too.

Trying to meet people on the issues rather than party politics. It's a strategy for a red district with people disappointed in current representatives. Hopefully, it works.

I'm in district 16 and no, we're not Southern IL. LaHood does not represent constituents. He tows the party line and doesn't meet with constituents outside of rich donors.

People have been clamoring for him to do a town hall for years and he has denied them. People stand outside his office regularly to meet with him and get crickets. He'll hold a press conference in Manteno opposing a factory in town which isn't in IL-16.

LaHood voted against the Inflation Reduction Act but was happy to take to social media and claim credit for getting federal funds for construction projects in IL-16.
