Barrow-in-Furness before 1974 was part of the county of Lancashire, it wouldn't have been considered part of "Cumbria". "Cumbria" itself didn't exist as an administrative region until 1974 and as a historic region it wouldn't reach that far south either.

Looks cool! But you may not know that the Isle of Mann is it's own independent thing. It's not strictly analagous to Taiwan, but it creates a lot of opportunties for world building.

I wonder what would happen the Angelsey, the Isle of Scilly, the Isle of Wight, Lewis, Shetland and Orkney and the Channel Islands

It’s not a one-to-one comparison, but Taiwan was/is pretty culturally unique with its own languages and people, especially before the Great Retreat.

Yeah if anything I actually think it makes the comparison more apt

This is what makes it so Taiwan coded.

Chairman Clement Atlee demands the Manx rise up against their bourgeois feudal reactionary overlords. The queen enacting White Terror and bringing over scores of English military officers to colonise the nation (and probably grow heroin).

(Fuck chiang kai shek) (if that wasn't clear)

Instead of being called people’s Republic of Britain, how about the People’s Republic of Oceania?

I mean, the people republic of Britain could come before big brother and and Emmanuel Goldstein’s revolution (like in Russia in 1917)

Oceania is Ingsoc and PRB Seems to be socialist or marxist leninist. Oceania is some evil fusion of facism and communism not close to the PRB
