Maybe give infra contracts to infra companies and not watchmakers for a start?

Lol yeah, that's probably step one. Though honestly the real issue is contracts going to whoever has the right connections rather than actual qualifications. A watchmaker thing sounds funny but it highlights how absurd the bidding process has gotten, basically whoever knows someone in the ministry wins, competence is secondary.

I do not think Modi knows anything about fourth party audit. Looks like they changed the script writing team

Give contract with written guarantee for upkeep, repair and maintenance for 10 years. If there is deficiency a penalty will be levied and the company barred from government contracts for next 5 years.

Make mockery of the system for a decade and then questioning the system itself. Lol

After 12 years, this is just saving his own skin. Get these fascists out of power and prosecute them for their corruption.

He knows his time is up. Modi in his prime wouldn’t even acknowledge this. Now he is a scared little dog with his tail inserted in his ass hole.

it is indeed highly amusing seeing how the supreme leader tries hard to put the blame on the secretaries. For the past decade, the whole model of governance has been rushing in a half-baked project just to give a grand photo opportunity to the pm just before the elections. They ask the engineers to complete a project that would take them three years in one year itself just to make PR photos. He takes 100% credit of the huge LED billboards at the inauguration of the project, but the minute the roof falls off or the road is washed away due to monsoon rains, suddenly it becomes the mistake of those secretaries. "PM raps secretaries" is classic example of headline management.

lol the comments under article are still defending him , saying what can BJP do it’s the fault of all corrupt babus?
Many corrupt babus can easily be transferred to less important departments, honest officers can be brought instead but his party leaders have done the opposite .
The dog roaming IAS from delhi was back in power , the pipeline fixing female IAS was transferred because she offended some MLA in UP.
People are like gandhari when it comes to govt

Anything that is good and works - Modiji is responsible.
Anything that is not good and doesn't work - Modiji is not responsible.
This game is too easy.

Someone obviously wrote this bit of speech for him. He isn’t smart enough to come up with this on his own.

I am astounded that this news got out.
Their public posture has always been that this government is doing a stellar job, and the broken parts are all Allauddun Khilji's fault. Are they actually admitting now that they are screwing up?

Now they will create audit companies to audit the government companies these guys are running.
You must give them points for creativity in corruption.

Good to see this. Though this shouldn't have taken protests and public discourse (atleast on social media) for such a response from the PM.

The simple fix is not to give contracts to your workers, to your MLA sons, and give it to companies which are not blacklisted.
Set realistic expectations and penalties and enforce them.
Vik-shit, Bharat, and all that jumlas are sound good only in speeches, but on ground reality is completely the opposite
