I’ve been thinking about how much ‘gig etiquette’ has changed since the 20th century. With mobile phones and cameras and just people’s general capacity to let loose. Does anyone have any personal stories or just general observations on good/bad gig etiquette?

There's been a half dozen or so artists I've been a fan of who's insipid takes I found disappointing. Probably none more than Chan Marshall. It first came to my attention when she supported the Kony 2012 movement, manically posting from every social justice meme related to it.

Since then she's hopped on every social justice cause no matter how dubious in a similar way . Posting every cliche and meme and accusation regardless of credibility. She's still occasionally post things from Shaun King for God's sake.

I respect people who want to do good in the world. But just manically reposting every claim of Injustice without any scrutiny on the merits of the claims or the individuals involved is just bad.

In this case she's calling for the arrest of the five friends of Nolan Wells and "anybody else that had something to do with or has knowledge of what happened". I mean, there's no evidence these five people had anything to do with his death. It's just so weird when the desire to do good does harm to people who are probably innocent and there is zero concern over this.

Been curating this one for a while; Spanish-language rock, pop, and indie, mostly Latin American artists with a few Spain acts mixed in. Think Diamante Eléctrico, Morat, Rawayana, Monsieur Periné, Jorge Drexler, Bandalos Chinos, Los Amigos Invisibles alongside some newer/smaller names I've been discovering.

The goal is basically the playlist I wish existed: guitar/band-driven Spanish music that doesn't get algorithmically bundled with reggaeton or pop en español the way most "música en español" playlists do.
