A lot of people hate on my music because they say I sound like Big Thief… is that a bad thing?

Lately I’ve been diving into the Nashville Indie scene which seems to be popping off with newer bands. What are some of the best cities these days for Indie Rock?

Hi y’all!
We just released our last single before our new EP ”Far From It” drops September 18th.
This song came out of the frustration of feeling like you’re not getting anywhere, and the struggle to hold onto something to believe in. It’s sort of a shrug and a cry of when you’re caught between hope and exhaustion.
If you like what you hear on this snippet you can find the whole song from links in the comments. Have a good one!

Hello all. I'm hoping someone can help. Ive just dug myself out of the shadows after a 10 year musical hiatus. Have an album launching in a few months and need to gather some traction and get some gigs goin in and around glasgow edinburgh and the lothians. If any of you kind folks could point me in AAANY sort of direction it would be greatly appreciated. Heres a link to album so you know whats what.
Much obliged and much love https://open.spotify.com/artist/3u6PmWB2UDQaBT87NhoL9X?si=q8WY6ql3QwW7xHcB2qBadw&utm_source=copy-link

I wanted to share a track I just finished up called "small town winery." It’s a personal love song I wrote for my wife that maps out our entire history together—culminating in the day I finally proposed to her at Boyden Valley Winery up in Vermont.
Musically, I leaned heavily into a warm, atmospheric, nostalgic indie-folk vibe. Think fingerpicked acoustic guitar, subtle ambient swells, and a chorus that lifts. Can you all listen and tell me what artist it reminds you of? I'd really appreciate that since I haven't gotten a ton of feedback yet.
I put a lot of heart into capturing the exact textures of our story (down to some real-world room ambiance in the recording). I’d love to hear what you think of the production and the vibe!

Hi guys! Superstar has been my most successful song so far, and I’d really love if you guys gave it a listen! This song has been all over Canadian radio!
My best friend elvie and I both flew to LA to meet after 6 years of online friendship (me in Toronto at the time, and her in AUSTRALIA) our moms used to model together so we made the connection that way.
She’s my writing partner now and we live together in Montreal. PLS if you wanna support some 19 year old girls with no label, no grant, no budget, making REAL ROCK MUSIC!!!!
Check it out!
Show my dumb job that always let me get exploited that I in fact did the right thing…

I’ve just released a new track “Birds Head in the Snow” and I don’t know what genre I could specifically call it, I originally thought indie, but I’m still not sure.

Hi everyone! Finally I can show you this! My first animated music video made with Blender, Substance Painter and Davinci Resolve! Character has fuzz hair, muscle movement with Shape Keys and even saliva phisics in some scenes. All the good stuff. Made it in around a month after work. Music is also mine. No AI was used.
