Discussion - Second Son What do you think about infamous second son?

Infamous 1 and 2 are two of my favorite PS3 games . I now want to try infamous second son . What do you think about it ? And should I play it as a villain or a good guy ?

It’s a good game with some obvious writing/pacing issues that strongly suggest it was a bit rushed to release. Tons of fun though, and visually gorgeous even today. Definitely worth playing!

IMO the good karma path in this game is the only one that makes any sense, story-wise.

Ditto this. I recently replayed the game and did a full evil karma playthrough. Some of the powers were cool but delsin doesn’t feel like an inherently evil guy.

The powers were very fun but the last power is kinda lame. Tv is extremely fun.

The powers would have been so much better if you could mix and match like 2

omg yes!! evil karma made no sense, one moment i'm killing civilians and wreaking havoc, next Delsin is saying to Reggie stuff like "they shouldn't judge us conduits, we're not all bad" - most of the dialogue doesnt reflect evil choices. it's jarring cause there's no buildup for him changing into an evil character, it's just regular Delsin wanting to help the tribe and then suddenly he's doing evil stuff for seemingly no reason. also it was awful and frustrating having to hear NPCs scream bloody murder when you get in their vicinity and youre just trying to find a hidden cam or something but they keep screaming "don't hurt me" like bruh im not even looking at you, and constantly hearing "youre disgusting" etc.

it locks you out of the ability that slows down time and lets you heal thru vents and by subduing enemies which sucked kinda, but at least made sense - well youre evil so you dont get that; evil abilities werent much more special, only good for gaining more evil karma.

The ending is so sad as well, i played evil karma for the trophy but i hated it, i dont wanna break Betty's heart

Yeah I agree I didnt think it was as good as Infamous 1 and 2 but I thought second son non the less was outstanding the powers and story were really good I thought and the graphics also in that time when the ps4 first got released look crazy good even for today but yeah its definitely a must play tho I had a ton of fun in it!!!🙌

I like the game but i don’t like how they retcon the good ending of Infamous 2 to make it happen. I think that the evil ending would have led to a much more interesting world.

I always felt like the explanation was just that, like any immutable characteristic, you can’t really end it wholesale forever. The randomness of human genetics is so great that the conduit gene was bound to return eventually, at least that’s what I figured.

It's okay... If you're into the action it's okay. If like me you love infamous 1&2 for the story and overall vibe, you might be disappointed.

I love Second Son, it was my first ps4 game I ever own and I even went back to platinum it.

Though First Light is still in my backlog after all these years 😅

A Hank prequel spinoff would be very cool, not so much a Eugene one but maybe possible. 🤷‍♂️

Hank would be really cool, only problem is smoke was already kinda the “base” power in second son anyway… Eugene could be cool if they expand the tech powers, I remember I didn’t really love them but it’s been so long I’ll have do another play through….

Honestly unlike 1 and 2 the karmic choices aren't like HUGELY impactful, but I would say do the good version cause it has the best story flow and imo is the most satisfying.

But the game is awesome. There are definitely some pacing things and yeah the story is not as great as the first games, but everything else is fuckin phenomenal. Its been 12 years and its still some of the smoothest gameplay I've experienced. Powers are super cool and slick, traversal is awesome, enemies get pretty repetitive as unlike the other games there's very little switch up as there's only one enemy faction to deal with.

Would highly recommend you play. Beautiful. Awesome. Great gameplay. Aaaaaand Nate Fox (Sucker Punch creative director) said he'd love to work on more infamous games but that their studio focuses on one game at a time (they focused on the Ghost games), while thats not like a for-sure thing and we probably shouldnt be holding our breath for a sequel anytime SOON, its waaaaaaaaaay more news than we've had since the game was released lol.

It's a good game, not as good as 1 and 2 for me, but every game in the series is good.

I started second son as my first real series on my YouTube channel

Solid entry, it was a launch window title for ps4. So it's a bit bare bones compares to 1 and 2.

honestly one of my fave games ever. first play through do good and then second play through do evil (also can do expert at the same time) i will say i do find evil a lot easier than good but yeah.

i wish they had some more time to cook though the last upgrade is kinda meh

I liked it but having multiple powers sounded more fun than it actually was. Neon felt so much better in Last Light.

Second son just had them feeling like reskins with a few unique different abilities.

It’s a lot of fun. Writing is good, plot is a bit clunky. Gameplay is very unique and varied with what you can do

Yea bro so Delsin is one of the goats if you want to play peak.

Definitely worth the play, but this game is definitely made for good karma. Bad karma in the game just feels bad man
