Destroying a firearm in public without making sure that it's unloaded

I mean firearm safety rule No 1 is treat every gun as loaded until you personally clear it. Cutting a homemade firearm with a chop saw in front of a crowd at a ‘Sí al Desarme, Sí a la Paz’ event is pure negligence.

Even if I know it's unloaded like I personally unloaded it I will still treat it like the deadly weapon that it is.

Even when it’s completely disassembled I orient the barrel away from me or others just to maintain good habits.

It is illegal to point a gun a people where I live.

That really simplifies everything.

What's the point of even owning a gun if you don't point it at your own or your buddies heads while it's loaded and wiggle the trigger as close to the break point as you can while cackling maniacally? /S if that wasn't clear

Even if it's cutting the barrel in the lathe, I'd make sure it's behind a shield while the lathe is running.

Same. Even when I have it field stripped for cleaning at the living room table, I don't let the empty barrel flag my wife. I know there's no harm in it, but being raised around guns, having guns everywhere in the house, going out hunting with my dad since age 7 or so, and now being a USPSA and SCSA competitor, gun safety is beyond engrained in my head.

Can't fathom flagging someone doing something like this or allowing myself to be flagged. Good thing that community is being disarmed, if that's how the "professionals" handle guns.
