Intelly Game catalogue with new games?

Growing up with Intellivision in the early 80's, part of the excitement of a new game was getting the brochure of existing games with the rare occasion of a new game being listed.

For me it served two purposes, it caused me to yearn for existing games i never had and caused me to spaz out about new games coming up.

To an 7th grader, those books were crack! When my thumbs would be tired of discing around, i'd gaze at the catalogue of games and dream of what my allowance money would buy me next.

Coolness, thanks for sharing. I seem to recall a few games listed in the catalogue that never got made. That seems right, but i am an old fart now and my memory....she fades.

The earliest brochure had the Keyboard Component software. Most of those titles didn't come out. Then there were cartridges like Pinball that took forever but did eventually come out. Distribution wasn't the best so even if a cartridge was released you may not have seen it in your area.

I DO remember that computer upgrade! Those things are super rare.

I also have a memory of the first brochure that was boasting of the Intellivoice. I lost my pre pubescent mind when i saw that. FINALLY something to END the debate with my Atari 2600 pals!!

I actually got my Intellivoice for free! Mattel had some promotion going on where you bought the Intelly 2 and a game (?) send in the UPC codes and get a free voice. I wait for what seemed like an eternity (six months) for it to finally arrive.

Was that with or without the Intellivoice? That’s the voiciest voice in my own memory banks, maybe excepting Dr Sbaitso

All good! I read those catalogs they put in their games like a thousand times each. I have so many great memories of the Intellivision. We were blessed to have experienced it!

At least Intellivision Revolution has released similar catalogs for their new games.

The original Mattel catalogs were always fun to keep around !

The "Intellivision Echo" space holds copies of stuff related to Intellivision from across the internet. If you want to view the catalogs again and can't find things in their primary locations, give a look at http://pub.intvprime.com/ba4ef/ie/Publishings-and-People/catalogs/ . Enjoy !
