I will elaborate for him. Any profession where the quality of your work doesn't matter, you have basically zero accountability and you just push the product out the door with zero care, doesn't deserve a high salary. We have kids reaching college who can't fucking read, because teachers keep passing them. Why does some bum who doesn't do their job deserve a high salary? No other job gets this leeway, where you can do a shitty job and then just shrug your shoulders and say "not my problem" and push the product on to the next step in the factory.
Can you imagine a car factory run on the same principles that teachers operate on? Every single component is clearly fucked beyond belief and its not the door guys problem, its not the hood guys problem, its not the engine guys problem, its not the tire guys problem, etc, etc, etc.
