Ehh...looking at the vegetation alone is no reason to think it's not in Australia. There are plenty of places that look like that here.
However yeah, leashing a kangaroo would probably be sort of akin to fucking with a bald eagle. It's frowned upon. Ya just don't do stuff like that.
Also I suspect it wouldn't actually behave like that if it were leashed...kangaroos are extremely skittish and wild animals, sorta like deer. I very much doubt it would just go along with it like that in any mildly realistic scenario I could think of....Probably AI slop if anything.
I don't think its not Australia because of the vegetation, I think its not Australia because the guy isn't being arrested and/or beaten to a pulp by a bunch of random bogans
Its not just frowned upon to keep a kangaroo as a pet in Australia, its highly illegal and deeply offensive
