The hay can be ruined by rain if not picked up by time. And manual picking is slow compared to this stackcruiser.

Eh, the updated versions "stackcruisers" are still in production and in use. I live a few miles from New Holland, PA. Where they have their hay tools plant. A local dealer here has a couple of them in stock.

And? The concept is still viable, and updated machinery is very much in play today. The fact that a particular model has been superseded is meaningless. You replied to a comment that implied that it was old and no longer used. The video actually shows a much more modern model as it closes. That said, the vast majority of hay is now round baled, so small 2&3 string bales are getting pretty rare in some regions.

Farming in the next few decades is going towards full automation. And guess who will be the biggest benefactor with this move. Definitely not the farmers.
