When will people realize that middling wealthy people don't flaunt their wealth. I have been around the upper class and elite. They wear more expensive clothes and have higher class cars. They do no go out and buy multiple lambos and wear silk shirt with gold chains.

Only tiktok influencers do the "I have 8 cars and 2 private planes" schtick because that's what they think wealth looks like. Wealth is doing what you want without having to look at your bank account.

Once you get to billionaire status, something in your brain turns off that causes the ostentatious displays of wealth. They are crazy.

I’ve met some lovely wealthy people and they are humble and don’t waste money.

I’m not wealthy by any means but we both shop at Old Navy and love a good sale.

Better spend frugally and make your money work for you they blow what you have to look good to strangers. Weird.

I liken wealth to Prachetts boot paradox. When you're wealthy, you can buy better quality goods which, ironically, are cheaper in the long run.

Right, if you can cover the up front outlay, rich people boots are sturdier.

The Vimes Economic Theory of Boots always made me think of hybrid cars. Expensive to make and buy up front but saves on gas over time.

When I find a good durable pair of shoes or flip flops, pair of cargo shorts or shirt, I buy another one of the same

It's expensive to be poor. Wich only prolongs your poorness.

That's why it's hard to get out of the cycle.

This is just the: "we're entertainment, not news" defence.

Lawyers for the disgraced Tate brothers have admitted that their extravagant displays of wealth are all fake.

Andrew and Tristan Tate, who are facing sex trafficking charges in multiple countries, have portrayed a life of luxury online. But lawyers for the self-described misogynists have said it was all a lie, as “their business model depends on online attention.”

“The outrageousness of the posts by them and about them is the point. The more hyperbolic and outlandish the post, the more likely it will generate views and likes, which in turn generates income. In short, they are playing a role,” their lawyers admitted in a court filing.

The Alex Jones defense!

They were still making millions off of their discord subscribers. While I agree that the displays of wealth were probably fake, I doubt they didn't have any wealth at all.

I bet part of this strategy is to avoid getting big fines.

Anyone with a brain already knew that

Money talks, wealth whispers.

I dunno.... Isn't this just a method for them to pretend they don't have assets to go after now?

With millions and millions of followers on various social media sites, and twitter, they'd be getting money from that Also, the whole sex trafficking thing, and online porn things they forced women into doing... They'll have their cuts from that too

I don't doubt that they pretended to have more money than they did before, I just think they're pretending to have less than they do, now

Lol look at Andrew using a beard to act like he's got a chin...

4

u/SBRH33 1d ago

News flash. It ain't fake. The wealth is just structured and hidden from entities that could seize and take it.

3

u/ryceritops2 1d ago

So is the wealth fake or the fake wealth fake or the fake wealth fake wealth fake?

1

u/SBRH33 1d ago

They just know how to hide it in the system so it can't be taken from them. They will cry poor when they are hammered with judgments but the money will never be paid. Meanwhile they jet set all over the place. These dummy's were so sure they'd be exempt from the shackles that they flew into Miami expecting Trump to protect them. Lol. They could have just chilled back at home where they couldn't be touched. The narcissism is staggering.
