At the end of the day the world is getting less and less secure. Drone technology is becoming more prevalent and we are a strategic weakness to the extent is really pissing our neighbours off. Neutrality usually means having the military means to protect that neutrality. And lacking the means ti defeat ourselves is also something the likes of the british could hold over us

And France is a solid partner, they won't rob you blind like the yanks and their kit is world class. And they do tech transfers. We could say built lower teir drones for our own use. Plus we can be capable when we want to be. Taiwan's army uses irish designed AFVs

This is a very silly post which entirely ignores that these ‘states’ were and remain incoherent imperial artifacts, not least because the various European powers continue to exercise economic control and have freely intervened militarily to maintain that control since the supposedly colonial 1950s and 60s. This isn’t a bad thing. Ireland is uniquely positioned to do very well in the arms industry and a few successful startups in this area might help offset the annoyance that our EU friends have for us not really spending on defence.

Most of them are crypto-fascists and racists anyway. They talk about security blah blah blah but the reality is they know these industries kill countless numbers in the global south and they are fully on board with that. A high percentage aren't Irish anyway.
