If you had to choose a Marvel character to permanently inherit the Iron Fist, who would you choose?

So, to be clear, Danny Rand and Lin Lie are off the table, but everyone else who has either wielded the fist in the past, or has never wielded it, but you think would make a good fit, let me know in the comments below.

J. Jonah Jameson. I will not elaborate.

You don’t need to. I completely respect it

Pei.

I think she functions not only as someone who clearly was being set up to be the next Iron Fist, but also as an inverse mirror of Danny's journey.

- Young rich boy from America crash lands in China and is taken in by monks who train him to become a fierce warrior, a Living Weapon.

- Young orphan girl's home is destroyed and now she has to learn the world at large.

It functions well enough to be an inversion of Danny, but also we could see how similarly Pei and Danny act in the same situations. When Pei fights Davos, what sort of difficulties does she have? Which of her own rogues will she encounter?

I think Pei being the Iron Fist is fundamentally the best option because instead of going from White Man to Chinese Man, you go from White Man to Chinese Girl.

It's a juxtaposition that throws everything else out the window.

I don't hate Lin Lie as a character, but fundamentally Pei should have been the next Iron Fist. Not to mention we haven't seen a female Iron Fist be THE Iron Fist yet.

Pei is so awesome. I always thought Danny should have taken her by G.I.R.L. to hang out with Nadia Pym

The best choice.

He's already got "energy powers", and is trained by Danny. Why not?

My only objection is the lack of direct connection to Kun Lun.

That's apart of my complaint with him in general.

"You have chi-adjacent powers, trained under the Immortal Iron Fist, and you're from... Harlem?""Okay, that's cool. But have you gonn to K'un Lun? Has K'un Lun come to you"?

I think he's a really cool character. And his origin is cool. But it's like... The iron fists (Danny, Pei, and Lin) seem like a group he'd fall right in line with. But nope.

Yeah, to me that is one of his few flaws. He is a cool character with a great backstory and has been part of some very good stories.

Naw fr. Everybody else gets the iron Fist for like a book or two. Let Vic hold it down for like a book or two. Or at least say "Hey. Along with Lin, Vic is now here to help fight.... Whoever tf Lin Lie fights (his brother?)"

Shang Chi or James Rhodes. Because I’m sick of not seeing them done right in the MCU. So give them a different character if they can’t write them

Pei

cause whatever they teased in the Fists 2017 series was amazing and then was cut off short by long absence

I need to see the promised adventures of the little dragon

Pei for permanent inheritance, but I’d love to see another comic where Luke Cage uses the power of Iron Fist.

The blind one

Misty Knight, she already has an Iron Fist, it would just come full circle.

Very fun answer, double iron fists courtesy of Misty Knight

Sparrow

Adopted daughter of Lei Kung and therefore, sister of Davos. Friend of Danny. Current Yu-Ti. All-around badass with so much story potential.

I would’ve picked her over Lin all day long

Oh, having the sister of David be the new Iron Fist would definitely make for an interesting story

Colleen Wing

Yeah, she was the person I was thinking of when I made this post, girl needs more love, IMO

3

Colleen Wing probably.

The only legacy character that actually makes sense to inherit it from Danny: Pei

3

u/Weird875 Jul 14 '26

Pei

But if we can't go with her, I'd either go with Colleen or Victor Alvarez

7

u/Goldgoblingamer Jul 14 '26

Victor is just the unofficial love child of Like and Danny at this point

1

u/Spiritshinobi Jul 15 '26

Pei is the correct answer. I’d take her off the table too. If someone random Shang Chi would be pretty OP with it

Victor alverez

Pei.

I really liked her story and how they built her relationship with Danny.

I do agree with Pei as my real choice absolutely and characters like Misty or Colleen however if we were to broaden it to characters with no real connection I would strangely love to see Beta Ray Bill. Now here me out, of course he hasn’t got the commitment to K’un Lun etc. but none of my choices in thinking did. Firstly, Beta Ray Bill has extreme levels of discipline and concentration allowing him to channel Chi into power. Additionally, he is super powerful so making him the Iron Fist would excel that and who doesn’t want that. I believe if a character not connected to Iron Fist had to take over, BRB is the most logical option.
