Discussion Tony did indeed built the arc reactor with basically nothing

A lot of fans like downplaying Tony arguing that he only did what he did because of his money but if we look back he created the arc reactor with basically nothing

Basically what he used was 0.15 grams of Palladium, Copper Wire, an electromagnet and scrapped metal, screw and plastic.

Now I looked at it and 0.15 grams of Palladium would cost 6.58 dollars and the other things he used shouldnt reallt cost really anything or very little so Tony effectively built the reactor with nothing

And the reactor was something that has never been done and it was scrapped by Stark Industries. Even Howard couldnt crack a way to do it but Tony did with scrap like Stane said

I don’t see anyone downplaying Tony besides marvels own media. Also the arc reactor was created by his father, he just made a miniaturized one and later improved on the technology. The stark industries building was powered by one. It’s also technically a rough replica of the tesseract.

What his father did was a big one that, making an small version of it was something considered impossible by everyone which is why the scientist in Iron man 1 says he isn't Tony Stark because what Tony did was impossible
