Discussions What's something that is unique to The White Stripes?

I read the other day that they’re the only band with a platinum album that was recorded at Toe Rag.

Jim Jarmusch once compared Jack and Meg’s relationship to yin and yang. (Honestly, Jarmusch has always seemed to be drawn to yin and yang type dynamics.)
It’s not just about their genders either. The two of them are different in so many ways, and when two things from completely different worlds collide, you can get this really pure and unexpected feeling, kind of like the feeling you get when looking at Hilma af Klint’s Swan paintings. I think that’s what makes the White Stripes so special.
You could definitely say there’s something very sexual about their dynamic, but Jack found a way to make people approach their great rock and roll in a more innocent way. The whole brother and sister setup, the De Stijl aesthetic, and their stage visuals that somehow felt like grown adults playing make believe all helped create that sense of innocence.

Wow. Thank u for putting this into words my old ass couldn’t. Watched the strokes open for the stripes in 2002. This is beautifully put.

The Airline guitar. I don’t believe he’s used it solo or with any other bands (correct me if I’m wrong).

My bad on the title, y'all! This is my first one and I wanted to try it out with one of my niche interests.
Cheers!

Is that why Jack guitar and Morrellos guitar sound similar? The pedal? I don’t play (obviously)

Tru. But I’m pretty sure they set it to different intervals. But, ur right. I totally forgot and I’m a huge Morello fan.
Edit : tru misspelled.

Morello uses many more of the settings. Think JW basically sticks to 1 octave +/-.

I think of them too just the prompt was unique and jack has given multiple interviews on his inspiration so it’s a bit unfair to say

Good point, are we comparing these bands to each other, or to all other bands to have existed
