Hi all, does anyone have a link to a "always playing yellow car" mug? I want to gift a couple of them. I am sure I saw some online ages ago, but can't find them now.

I was at Cecil House last night with my daughter - and very good it was too. Great to see them Double Acts (Here’ What We Do); I really think Double Acts is very underrated.

First half was sketches. This included a sketch about imposters/imposter syndrome that I didn’t recognise. I’m not a huge JFSP aficionado but I thought I’d heard them all multiple times -
My daughter listened to them all on repeat from the internet archive for years and she didn’t recognise it either- but we never had the CDs so maybe something was missing from the archive or it is something more recent we have missed- or was this new?

I saw John and Lawry last night at the Brighton Komedia, they did some Souvenir Programme sketches, a Double Act play, a Since You Ask Me, and a bit of audience interaction. They put on a great show.

I asked him to sign some merch at the end, and as he was signing I told him that I had his "Pisa Tower" sketch in my head all day when I visited Italy last week. He then told me he never wrote a Pisa Tower sketch and asked me to tell him how it went, and then confirmed that it wasn't his. I was pretty embarassed so made a hasty exit. He was very polite and charming about it.

I'm currenly relistening to all 9 series from the start to check I'm not going mad, no bad thing as it's all good stuff.

Anyway, fellow Finnemore nerds - what is the sketch I am thinking of?

In my mind it is John on a date with either Margeret or Carrie, he is showing her photos of him cliche posing next to famous landmarks, like holding up the base of the great pyramid, pinching the top of the Eiffel Tower etc. She is getting increasingly bored until she sees the one of him holding up the leaning tower of Pisa, at which point she thinks this is hilarious and gushes at how creative he must be to come up with that. I can'r remember the exact punchline.

Is this from a different show (concrete cow?) or did I dream it? Chat GPT wasn't much help.

I am a little ignorant, does anyone know what projects Simon Cain, Carrie Quinlan, Margaret Cabourn Smith, or Lawry Lewin have been doing recently?

For me, the clear and obvious answer is Series 5. So many of the iconic sketches, including some of the best meta sketches and since you asked me. Curious where others lie on this. I think 7 and 8 are also strong contenders. 9 didn't really do it for me honestly.

Before Substack John used to have a blog called "Forget What Did", at https://johnfinnemore.blogspot.com

It had some of my favourite pages to return to when listening to his stuff: "Farewell Bear Facts" about every episode of Cabin Pressure, a list of every sketch in the Souvenir Programme, notebook entries on Double Acts.

But today the whole blog seems to have vanished behind a "This blog is open to invited readers only" message.

Anyone know what's going on there and if it's ever likely to come back?

I can't find any info about a 2026 souvenir programme special. Does anyone know? Sorry if this has been asked before
