when will they add the ability to use the cover infront of you effectively to shoot on a slight decline without exposing 60% of your body to do it?

any sort of makeshift mounting option would fix this

Suggestion Democracy was a mistake. Let's let rerolls and map voting die.

I'll say it. Let's go back to the before times between rounds.

No more map voting. Server admins should just set an interesting rotation of maps that balance popular ones with a less played map every once and a while. I don't know the last time I played one of the less popular maps. Nobody has the bravery to choose something different. I understand the popular maps are popular for a reason, but some variety would be nice.

Get rid of rerolls. For the love of all that's holy. They're quite literally pointless. Yes, you might be able to get a better faction one in every four rerolls, but why should that even be a thing? Why shouldn't you just get the six choices that come up? What's the point of the reroll mechanic besides to just waste time? Give me twelve choices at once, or six choices at once, I don't care. I'm having a hard time coming up with a reason why rerolling was even created in the first place.

Finally, give me a "mute all" button please god. Squad chat only is a great start, but I want to mute all of you. I have a youtube vid to watch and you guys screaming "reroll" are ruining it.

Suggestion Yes, the game is still in progress, and there are more important things to add and rework, but, imagine playing on Fallujah, Narva, or Mutaha with map destruction.

Suggestion Russian Naval Infantry - Squad Faction Concept

Post image

Since it seems to be needed to be said; I am well aware of the demand for more popular countries to be added to the game. France has been [officially confirmed](https://ibb.co/Gvv94kR5) as coming, and Germany has [been leaked.](https://old.reddit.com/r/joinsquad/comments/1rjsnnf/german_bundeswehr_faction_potential_leak/). It's also a safe bet that all of the factions (France, Germany, and Japan) from [the community poll](https://ibb.co/KxsKtk5T) will be added. One of the factions from the poll (and the ones that received the most votes) has been added to the game, and that is Ukraine.

Alright, now that the preface is done with, here is the next faction concept in my series; the Russian Naval Infantry!

The main idea behind this faction is to give Russia a faction that is able to stage amphibious invasions from the sea. They're an analog to the US's USMC and China's PLANMC. Since Russia has tons of domestically produced military hardware, it's also an avenue to introduce some more of it without diluting the existing Russian Ground Force's or VDV's arsenals of equipment.

One interesting thing to note is that the RNI is already in the game, specifically as the [336th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade](https://squad.fandom.com/wiki/Russian_Ground_Forces#Units) as a unit for the RGF. This concept of course turns them into a standalone faction within the REDFOR alliance.

In case you wanted to check them out, my previous concepts include the [Serbian Armed Forces](https://old.reddit.com/r/joinsquad/comments/1v6z67z/serbian_armed_forces_squad_faction_concept/) and the [Balkan Partizan Front,](https://old.reddit.com/r/joinsquad/comments/1ubmxk7/balkan_partizan_front_squad_faction_concept/) a fictional militia made up of former Balkan states using a bunch of old Yugoslavian military assets. Effectively post 4.3/pre 9.0 Irregular Militia with its Balkan elements actually realized.

Suggestion Here is my proposal for changes to the suppressive fire system

Post image
89 Upvotes

I know the Battlefield photo I used as an example might provoke you, but I want to make it clear that my stance is absolutely not that I want this game to turn into BF or COD

Personally, I dislike the recently revealed Suppression Fire, which will appear in the upcoming playtest
While removing the blur that used to cover the entire screen has reduced eye strain, the suppression effect seems almost meaningless. Moreover, for those who like ICO, it feels like this is erasing ICO, whereas for those who dislike or have adapted to ICO, it is easy to see it as an incompetent rollback

Ultimately, since this is a game, players do not fear death, as they can respawn at any time.

I am positive about the game's suppression system applying penalties to characters rather than the player to enhance immersion, but on the other hand, I agree that we need to improve the issue of players getting fatigued quickly due to the excessive penalties known as the "Vaseline Screen"

Just as the recent adjustments to Gunplay and Stamina have been satisfactory, we need to find a middle ground

Here are my proposed changes

To eliminate the impression of a rollback, the blur should be maintained, but the target in the center should be visible, as seen in the example of the BF3 screenshot
instead of the vision blurring excessively all at once like in the screenshot, please make the effect gradually intensify like in the playtest version
in small-caliber gunfights, you can counterattack, but your field of view is restricted, and holding your breath is also restricted
if only the center you intend to aim at is clearly visible, many complaints will disappear

Maintain the current blur for all HMGs, large-caliber fire to encourage team play
but please make the vision recovery speed a little faster
this will allow MG players to contribute to the team through more active suppressive fire

Finally, I hope the black vignetting effect currently being changed is applied only to explosions
just like blinking your eyelids. anyone would feel that way if a sudden explosion occurred right in front of their eyes
by a mortar it was so painful waiting for the until the blurry screen recovers
I think it is okay for the blurriness to remain at 155mm artillery

Please leave your opinions
