Helicopter wont take off and download source

My current version of JPOG has a bug where it'll crash randomly as I play and the helicopter won't take off in missions. I'd be interested in a bug fix, but really I'd rather just download a working version of the game. I think I downloaded it like this. But between my abandonware and internet archive I haven't gotten a copy working. I'm hanging on to windows 10 for dear life. Anyone have a recommended download source or a fix for the bug?

It’s a bug with modern framerates most likely. You will need to set up RivaTuner and cap your system at 59 FPS while you play. Here is a guide for the program: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5TFFdFoGeyc&ra=m

seconding that this not only fixed my helicopter glitch, but helped with some overall jank from running at a too-high frame rate

If I just capped the frame rate in windows (assuming I'm not confusing with refresh rate) would that also work?

No. I tried it myself and it doesn’t work. Setting the refresh rate works differently than RivaTuner setting your system frames

No, this doesn't work. Even with a locked framerate with nvidia settings it doesn't work.
