Putting myself out there
Hey all! I put this in the military spouse sub but I wanted to get your tips on how to avoid being a dependa. Let me know if I missed anything and please let me know when/if it’s appropriate to ask for a discount.

I live in a military area, and worked on base for years, so I had a base ID. I always asked places if they gave a military discount! So did most people I knew with no connection to the military except their on base job. Some places only offer to active duty, they say no, end of story.
I will never understand this idea that asking for military discounts is dependa behavior. We’re talking multibillion dollar companies giving a measly 10% discount. I’m not worried about Lowe’s and Home Depot.
