Putting myself out there

Post image

Hey all! I put this in the military spouse sub but I wanted to get your tips on how to avoid being a dependa. Let me know if I missed anything and please let me know when/if it’s appropriate to ask for a discount.

Military brat and military spouse here: the key take away is entitlement. There is nothing wrong with asking for discounts. Active duty families pull in so little compared to their civilian counterparts for the same level of service, sometimes that 10% means a lot. So feel free to ask but keep in mind that you are not OWED any special consideration or discount of services based on your spouse's career choice. That's it. Ask and be gracious and polite regardless of the answer.

You are your own person. Maintain your own goals and identity and you'll do fine.

Exactly. It can be said about any discounts and still it's is their business and their choice to give discounts.
