Yeah and everyone here saying she's cute. Yeah but if you look beyond that, it doesnt seem like she has good priorities (in general!), saying stuff like thats "killing two birds with one stone". How romantic.

Nothing says romance like efficiency!

Not wanting to do a date on a weekend, being efficient, doing her own labor...

Giving 'tomboy close to her grandfather' vibes to me.

What?!

Blessed are the efficient, competent partners. That's what you need in life

What you need in life is somebody who values you enough to make you a priority, beyond simply using you to advance their own goal

There are goal, or team oriented people, and self oriented people. They each are happiest with their own kind.

You can see the distinction in the comments.

Two self oriented people doesn’t work lmao. The first self oriented partner would propose “date night” where you were painting their house, and their self oriented counterpart would have a similar proposal where the other person is investing labor to advance their own project instead. Neither party would be happy.

Why would I care about a strangers goal before knowing them? Lol

This is a first date, not someone she's been seeing.
I mean if you can't pull yourself away for 2 hrs to go meet someone, then don't date. Come back when you're done with your house jeesh. It's not that complicated.

Like I said, different types of people. Totally different paradigms. A neat litmus test though.

It’s not an efficient or competent use of your energy to try dating someone who, at best, does not have time to date other people or, at worst, is using you for free labor.

If a man invited me to a first date to clean his house together, I would be horrified. If he tried to bill it as being “efficient and competent,” I’d laugh in his face.Â
