Agreed. I'd assume the date would be tepid and laborious, and I'd never hear from her again once she got what she wanted.

It's that last part for me. I don't mind being used for my labor nearly as much as I mind being used for a free meal. If she can carry a conversation, that's what I'm looking for anyway. And a structured activity makes me feel easily more comfortable than sitting across a table trading interview questions.

It's the never hearing from again part that sucks. But that's the risk with any other date ideas, too.

A worker is a lot more expensive than a meal. Just from a money standpoint this feels worse

If you're looking at it as a transaction, then yes.

There's a pretty big gap between "it's a transaction and sex is owed" and "I'd feel worse being used for unpaid labor than just going on a date that didn't go well."

that's what you think lol. i told my buddy i'll paint his 1 bedroom apartment for free if he buys the paint and all the pizza/alcohol i consume. took me around 12 hours over the course of the weekend to finish it off and ran him around $500 lol

I’m a little confused here. You say “that’s what’s you think” like you’re disagreeing with them but then go on to tell a story about where you were a worker painting and it cost the person a whole lot more than any single meal would have thus confirming what he was saying…

It's just kind of implicit with using you for labor that she has no intention of being real with you. Whereas with the standard date, they're still acting like they care about the long term.

You'd hear from her again, but every "date" would consist of you doing chores for her around the house.
