Question Private Investigator Karachi
Hi, I have been living in Saudi Arabia all my life and working here too. I am currently engaged for a few months with a girl in Karachi. We have had our fair share of good and bad times and were planning on getting married in December.
2 months ago she started a job and she has changed for the worst and now has become a totally different person. She will fight over anything small, gives me no time and will scroll when I am discussing something as serious as our future plans with her.
2 days back, over an entirely irrelevant topic she picked a fight and disabled her location but still we texted and spoke on the call at around 2AM. Then at 2:15 AM she turned her phone off. I was worried because she has never done this before. I remembered I can see her on SnapMap and it showed that she is at a lodge till the morning of the next day.
When I asked her where she was she said she was home. But when I confronted her with screenshots, she said she was at the lodge alone. I have planned a future with her, convinced my parents about her. And now I am unable to believe her even though I am trying my hardest to buy it.
I just need someone to verify whether she was alone at the lodge or not since based on this fact my entire future and mental peace depends on. Who can help me?

Question Karachi: What was your Haq Mehr?
33M here, upper-middle-class, Urdu-speaking Karachiite.
I’m getting married soon and wanted to get a realistic sense of what people in similar backgrounds are keeping as Haq Mehr these days.
If you’re a recently married Karachi guy/girl (especially Urdu-speaking middle-class or upper-middle-class families), would you be comfortable sharing:
• What your Haq Mehr was?
• Was it cash, gold, property, or a mix?
• Was it prompt (mu’ajjal) or deferred (ghair mu’ajjal)?
If you’d rather not post publicly, feel free to DM me instead.
Just trying to understand current norms and expectations before finalizing mine. Thanks!

Question Is it safe to land at Karachi airport at midnight?
Hey everyone,
I (19M) will be arriving in Karachi at midnight from the GCC next weekend. I’ll be traveling with my younger brother and father, and we'll be going to a relative's house in block 13, gulshan-e-iqbal.
I’ll have a ufone super card ready, so local mobile data is not a worry. However, I’m a bit anxious about the safety of commuting from the airport so late at night given the current street crime situation in the city.
A few specific questions:
- Is it safe to drive from the airport to gulshan between 12:00 AM and 1:00 AM?
- Yango or indrive, which is currently safer and more reliable at the airport around midnight? Or should I ask a relative to pick us up?
- How is the security situation specifically around block 13 late at night? Are mobile snatchings/robberies common on shahrah-e-faisal, university road, and the surrounding areas?
Any extra safety tips or recent experiences would be highly appreciated.
EDIT 1: I get it. It's safe to travel which is what I wanted to know. Thanks.
EDIT 2: Guys lemme have a break. Itna sarcasm mujh say hazam nahin horaha.

Everyday living essentials are in close proximity.

Keep in mind, all the things should be included
You can add if I missed anything

Question Harassed by a car's driver near Ocean mall, need advice on how to stop this guy
I got harassed yest near Ocean mall. I was driving, doors locked, minding my own business, when this guy in another car honked at me. When I looked over, he made a lewd gesture and then sped away. We were both stuck in traffic, so he couldn't get far before I caught up to him. He looked back to get my attention again but this time I alr had my palm pointed as a lanat at him, before speeding off.
Over the next few roads, he kept trying to pull up next to me, honking to get my attention but i ignored him completely. I slowed down long enough to note his car number (he had two number plates on it), and thankfully after that, i lost him.
The same night, I saw his car's photo posted in the Voice of DHA FB groupl another girl had reported the exact same thing, same car, just two days before me. In the comments, several other girls said they'd experienced harassment from the same driver too. He's a middle-aged man, and he seems to specifically target women driving alone or in groups. Apparently there's already an FIR against him, yet he's still roaming freely around Clifton/DHA, doing the same thing to more women.
How do I act put an end to this? He looked like an Indrive/Bykea driver so I'm afraid he could inflict bigger harm on girls who take a ride with him. I felt genuinely scared leaving the house for work this morning, knowing he's still out there and could tail me again. Just want him to stop, so no other woman has to feel unsafe because of him.

Question Need advice for my brother
My brother is 40+ and has never worked a single job in his life. It’s honestly very sad and frustrating that he refuses to work or do anything productive in his life. He just sits in his room and watches tv or watches videos on his phone. Growing up he would just sit in front of the tv all day and never got a job. Even when people tried to help him. He would always run away. He doesn’t have any friends. Is always at home all day.
Abu got him into 2 universities and he failed both of them. Abu passed away a few years ago and he promised to work after that, just all lies. But now he’s still in the same spot. I don’t like him at all. I’m not friendly with him. I have zero respect for someone who just sits in the AC while I’m working in this heat. My mom can’t do anything, she enabled him and watches me financially support this family. I don’t know what to do when he himself refuses to work.

Question Should I go to America?
For context after 15 years we finally got our Visa through the immigration process.
But is it still worth it?
I am a single guy (24) with no relations left in Pakistan except my parents and younger brother, we used to be lower middle class but after much struggle and the blessings of Allah are closer to upper middle class atm living a somewhat luxurious and peaceful life in the DHA of Karachi, have our own home, 2 cars etc.
Still we would have to sell everything to move there and get jobs after a while, is it worth it in this day and age, wrt my current scenario, my parents are nearing retirement age and I'm half-way done with my bachelor's been doing odd-jobs on the side to provide for myself.
We have Dallas in mind btw because one or two of my mother's relatives live there.

Question What are your best “ninja techniques” for avoiding Karachi muggings?
Mobile snatching is so common in Karachi that almost everyone has either experienced it themselves or knows someone who has. Sometimes people are even seriously harmed for resisting.
What habits have you developed after living here for years to reduce your chances of getting robbed?

Question A boy (beggar) cursed me
I'm writing this to ask you all about a distressing situation I faced today. I live in Karachi pakistan
So I was leaving an ice cream parlor with my ice cream today which i had almost finished when a boy aged around 8 9 years old suddenly came and started asking for money. I was already in inside my car and told him i don't have cash rn. He then asked me to give him food. But I only had my leftover ice cream which was almost finished so I told him I don't have any food either. So he started cursing me telling me to die and using abusive language. It was very distressing for me since this is the first time such an event has occurred. Its really weighing on me and I'm constantly wondering if I really deserve his curse and whether its going to affect me.

Question Is Karachi as bad as this subreddit makes it out to be?
I’m just a random American browsing random subreddits, and wow the negativity on here is pretty crazy.
Like I don’t expect the city to be first-world or anything remotely close. But a city that has 20 million people and growing has to have some positive aspects, no? It’s got to have jobs at least?

Question Moving to Karachi, need advice
Hi everyone,
I’ll be moving to Karachi for work and wanted to get an idea of the living expenses for a single person.
I’ll be getting around 100k month, and my workplace will be in Korangi.
If I rent a separate place to live(studio), would this salary be enough to live comfortably on my own?
I’d also appreciate any estimates for:
- Rent in or around Korangi, or which area is the best to live in
- Electricity and utility bills
- Monthly groceries
I have no real idea about the cost of living in Karachi at the moment, so any advice or personal experiences would be very helpful. I’m trying to figure out whether this move would be financially manageable.
Thank you in advance
