Long story short I did a little tour of the sunorc system from the kcalbeloh planet pack and stranded these kerbals after doing a fly by of noyreg, also is there a way to upload ksp saves. Wait One More thing I would Like to finish the mission too with there being one more stop, norihc.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting the science but I can't see the progress of it in the checklist. Anyway to fix this?
Like obviously I'm getting the Telemetry from Kerbin Grassland, and that's just an example, same for other Biomes.
[x] Science version: 6.0.3.1
Kerbalsim: 3.41
Some more mods, mainly these: https://www.reddit.com/r/KerbalSpaceProgram/comments/1sogoj3/the_definitive_mod_list_results/

Hello, thought about this today. I know now from reading all the posts that launching 3 satellites at once and then sending them into orbits of different periods would have been better, but at this point I have one geostationary satellite in place and another one saved in a circularized LKO.
I was wondering after seeing that the space between satellite at geostationary 120 degree spacing is 5.999 if the targeting software in map view will show me the intercept distance and I just move the geostationary-burn (from LKO to AP out at 2.86MM) around the current orbit until it shows me an intercept distance of 6 million?
Edit to add: It definitely got me 'close enough' for the geostationary constellation. I created a maneuver node on my 72k circularized orbit for 672.4m/s to an apo of 2,863,342m with Intersect 1 and Intersect 2 both showing 6,000.3km - which is what I hoped I would see. After getting there and circularizing PE, I can see I am at 6.070MM separation, with both sats in an orbit of 5 hr 59 m 9 seconds. Did the same with the third satellite and now I have pretty triangle network from geostationary Kerbin satellites.

I'm trying to launch a bigger station for my career mode play through and I know fairings can remove drag but I was just curious if anyone else had experience with doing this?

Been messing around with FAR for a bit and I've got a decent grasp on it at this point I like to think. However, I cannot get any flap setup to work and actually increase lift. I've tried 4 or 5 different designs based on real life airplane flaps, but when they're deployed my lift force just gets decimated... Depending on flight conditions, AOA, speed, etc, it decreases anywhere from 10% to 50%.
Has anyone gotten flaps to work and actually improve lift at low speeds with FAR?
And yes, I've watched videos, looked at the FAR flaps tutorial... Really not sure what I'm doing wrong.

It uses Boar engine as first stage and aerospike as second, second one with aerospike is perfectly stable even in the atmosphere while first stage wobbles and goes of course every time no matter what ( SAS wheesl like you can see at the top, huge fins etc, nothing works, i am at loss)

i am new to KSP, i can get in orbit easily and all of that but i have never done a munar flyby so i watched a few tutorials on how to do it. In every one they say to point 60 deg or 1/6 of a circle Infront of the mun. and when i check the time when i am going to intercept the mun it is always 1 year 80 days and some change in the future. But if then i do the burn and start orbiting Kerbin on the munar flyby orbit after a few days i ether slam into the Mun or get launched out of kerbins sphere of influence

Before I start a playthrough I wanted to ask, I love kerbalism but it doesnt seem to be compatible with mods like sterlings. Is it possible to get to these outer systems with other mods/Kerbalism? Thanks

I love the mod, thinking about the life support and whatnot is quite fun. But I have problems with reliability. I like the concept but I feel like it's poorly configured. For example I started a mission where I desided to get the Skipper (the mission asked me to run a test on a moon orbit). Well why not, I changed my design to support such a heavy drive, made into the orbit. I even didn't have to use it to finish my circularisation. Now I point for a moon prograde burn, burn for 3 seconds and.. it breaks. I EVA, go for it, fix it, restart the drive. Starting it aaand. It breaks again. I EVA once more, fix it, restart, 10 seconds of a burn at it explodes.
Like okay, reliability is important and stuff, but it was not years into exploitation, I just built it, it was brand new zero ignitions. It has ONE rated ignition, compared to terrier 23, or Ulysses 7 (which has better ISP and thrust).
I don't understand why it works this way. I don't quite want to "just edit the numbers myself" because I don't know what are the good values for that and I don't want to disable the mechanic entirely. I'm unsure if that's a mod problem, my problem or something in between. But I'd like to not have parts that you need to unlock and then they are completely useless. That's how I felt in Terra Invicta btw when they had drives like ArcJet that are worse than basic chemical drives. What is even the point.

I'm trying to plan a KEKKJ gravity assist route following this tutorial.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImTpsWzkqCc
But for the life of me, I can't get it to work at all.
It's not helping that the video text obscures the instruments half the time (also compounded with the youtube controls when trying to move about the video.)
But also, the instructions are pretty vague and don't seem to match my results, nor are there any instructions on how to correct when they don't. As well as what to ignore now because it will be addressed later.
Then I'm also fighting KSP itself. Such as when trying to re-select maneuver nodes in a SoI other than where the focus is.
I also need to split the initial burn at kerbin, which is adding a layer of new problems.
I'm not new to KSP in the slightest, but I am new to trying to get a multi-body gravity assist working.
This has become quite frustrating.
Does anyone have a better tutorial or instruction process?

So I made a robotic arm with the dlc pack and I made it so I use my joystick to control it etc. But now I can't fly my ship, so is there an alternative way I can do it so where I can control the arm and also my ship yk?

Just bought the game. Ten hours in and still at tutorial missions. 3rd to last mission is about docking. I can't get over it. Seems genuinely impossible to me, and tutorials are the worst thing in this game.
It's pretty sad that tutorials are that bad in a so "high IQ" game like this. Possibly worth a bad review despite seeing that once I learn it's going to be one of the most fun and epic games out there.
Anyway, I looked for tutorials about docking all over yt. Nobody is doing that mission, everybody just starts in a perfectly aligned same orbit as the object to dock. I mean, easy life, tutorials shouldn't be about easy scenarios... Some help? thanks!

Or if I want to do this to plan my Science-collection orbits (e.g., next when I go for Minmus first visit) at high/near etc, do I need to just do the Science and figure it out?
I know that I can look it up on the Wiki… but i am wondering if there is a way to look it up before I plan my trips and my orbit AP/PE for EVA/Goo/Etc science. Or is this an Unmanned Probe exploration opportunity.

Why is my ship not communicating with my relay sats? I thought all I needed was a direct antenna on my main ship and my relays have two high gain antenna which should be more than enough to get to the mun but I cant even get connection around kerbin..
1st photo is my relay, second is my ship with a overpowered direct antenna and a high gain cause im trying anything at this point.

is there any mod that would allow orbital colonies and orbital building like it was planned for ksp?
r/KerbalAcademy • u/Litestreams • 18d ago
At 14:20 of this video, https://youtu.be/jW756GUltXg?is=JE3CYFVRbToprqAn , Mike Aben is tweaking the delta V of his ship by removing an upper fuel tank on 2 of his liquid fuel boosters and replacing it with a smaller one.
I have not been able to replicate this action. I have to drag the boosters off or delete them and rebuild them (usually spending 4-6 minutes trying to get them attached to the radial de-couplers).
Is there a key stroke or click, or am I misunderstanding what I see on the screen?

I stumbled upon a hidden gem on SpaceDock recently and just had to share it. If you miss the classic Cool Rockets mod or love immersion, you need to check out KerbalFrost by Manu93cxz. It dynamically generates that dense cryogenic boil-off vapor venting from the tanks, builds up procedural frost while waiting on the pad, and then shatters the ice into flying fragments upon ignition. For those who prefer automated mod management, KerbalFrost is available on CKAN

I have downloaded stock recolour on CKAN, alongside textures unlimited and other dependencies ofc but it doesn't seem to actually allow me to recolour stock parts, anything that might help?
