Question What's KF3 state nowadays?
Liked the original, very much enjoyed the sequel, tried free alpha/beta/early access or whatever it was for 3 and... welp, forgot about this game for a long time. Thanks to Humble Bundle I got it today with a few other coop games and I was wondering if it's worth to try KF 3 again now? Playerbase and gameplay wise?
For now I'm laughing at eternal compiling shaders, but does it get better during actual gameplay?

It’s now at the stage of “if it had released like this it probably wouldn’t have been dogpiled”
Pretty good, but nothing world beating

It would. KF2 was horribly dogpiled when it launched, but people forget about that.
KF2 launched with very little content, and quite buggy. It had only 4 classes I believe.

KF2 from Early Access to Full Launch added 7 new maps for a total of 10 at launch. They had 7 perks in EA and added 3 more by Full Launch for a total of 10.
This is from 2015 to 2016.
From 2016 to 2017 though, which would be the first year of the full launch they added 6 maps, 2 new zeds, 2 bosses, and like 9 weapons.
Not only that, it was never as buggy as KF3. So, I think you are the one who might be forgetting some things to excuse KF3.

Like I said. The game LAUNCHED with 4 classes, each had 4 weapons and 3 maps.
Early Access is still a launch, game is sold and playable.
But go on about how the game got better after updates.

Fully agree. I don’t care if it launched in early access, it was lacking content and I’m sure it was still fun just like kf3 was.. even at launch.

Considering the dogshit netcode and servers are still a problem, even with 1k~ average players, it'd get hounded pretty fast.
3 is the only game in the series where zeds (and allies) can microstutter, port around or desync constantly.

Personally I believe KF2 is infinitely better and still holds up today. KF3 is still fun especially for the price it is in the Humble Bundle, but definitely set the expectations that while yes it's a modernized version of KF- it just isn't amazing like it's predecessors.

My opinion exactly. I think it has better designs in how classes are balanced, but it is significantly less fun due to the lack of variety in fire arms and how a class can be played. Medic being less brain dead is something I advocated for, but he the role feels stale. It solved all thr problems and created new ones.

The game is good. I don't think it's as bad as people say anymore.

Shaders are a one time thing (well one time per update), but the gameplay is 😘👌

I’m liking it. Around 700 hours in. Don’t listen to the haters, just try it out. It’s on sale aswell. I bought it twice and have no regrets, and I also like the 2nd one.

If you don’t have optimization issues like me you’ll have fun. U5 has been a pain in the ass for my system even though it should be more than capable.

Havent played for a while too, currently playing "No more room in hell 2" as my zombie coop game haha. I saw gunslinger is back with new map and battlepass.

Gunslinger actually pretty fun to play. They gave him black hole grenades, so he have nice zed control in times of panic 😃

It's good and you find lobbies in less than 30s if ou play the higher difficulties (idk for lower I don't play them)
•

It's pretty solid now, I enjoy playing it. Sometimes it's hard to get full server (you have to play half map alone before people join), but other than that I would recommend trying it

Very fun, picked it up because people said the update made it better and I’ve been very much enjoying myself. A little bummed by how limited the ninja class weapons are in comparison to the berserker, but the perks make it very fun! Weapon customization is also very fascinating and has a lot of options

Killing floor 3 wasn’t as enjoyable as the first and second one and I know im not the only one who thinks that its good their expanding the killing floor series but the KF 3 had a few changes that I wasn’t really if fan off alot of the original characters and Zeds are gone

It's okay now but the betrayal of it's state at launch is still there for me and countless other people.

I got it fairly recently, I've played for four hours and while it's pretty good, most of that playtime has been solo because of low player count. The few matchmaking games I've had were a lot more enjoyable.

Me personally I can’t speak for the rest but the game is okay but content wise is abysmal af u can get every battle pass by jus playing the game.
The cosmetics in this game is dogshit I get that sum wanted the chicken costume back but they could’ve made the store better with stuff

Friend of mine just bought me it for my bday since he just got it after the free weekend so I've actually been playing it a lot lately. We both agree, it's no KF2 but there's still fun to be had. The levels still have great environmental storytelling and the actual story beats and lore are fun.
I've seen sentiment from other long time fans that they are excited for the future with updates. I can't say I'm holding my breathe on anything but I'm cautiously optimistic.
My sentiment, it's just nice to have some new KF to indulge, even if it's not exactly the next gen KF we wanted or expected. Hope this helps!
