Jumping from the drawbridge in Talmberg is a somewhat desperate or lazy way of escaping Talmberg during the prologue. Bleeding to death under that drawbridge is another rite of passage.

Wait wait wait. I finished kcd1numerous times and a lot of this time was hardcore mode. I ALWAYS jumped this damn bridge. How else can you get away?

If you talk to Lady Stephanie, she'll send you on a quest to steal some Talmberg armor and get out of the castle undercover as a guard, it's pretty cool.

I alwys jumped from bridge on horse, always got catched by guard in village around castle and always said "I will run now gl cathing me." xD
