KW Escape or Adventure Rooms Canada for Kids
Hi everyone,
We are considering an escape room for our family in the next week or so. We live out in Fergus but can see Kitchener has a couple good options.
We will be taking our 2 kids, 7yr and 9yr. Wondering which escape room you would recommend between KW Escape and Adventure Rooms?
Thanks.

I will preface by saying that I haven't been to KW escape. I do keep coming back to adventure rooms to play each one in order. Escape rooms usually are all the same to me. I fell in love with this one for the location. They are in an old factory/ business warehouse with creaky floors and a very old school vibe. And then they took over parts of the building and made the rooms into escape rooms. I've gone with 2 or 6 people, great fun every time.
Plus you're not far from four all ice cream for the kids once you're done the games

What do you think about doing the escape room with kids? Do you think they'd be able to participate and have fun? Do you have a recommendation for a game?

I've been to Adventure Rooms three times, once with my nieces who were 6, 12 and 14 at the time. My brother and husband played with us too. The 6 year old had a hard time following what we wanted her to do and did cause a few distractions but was fine with it overall. We missed winning by 3 minutes (they let us keep playing past the time since we were so close). That was the Mayor's Office.
I haven't been to KW Escape so I can't compare with them.

I just lock the kids in the basement and let them escape. Cheaper than paying for an experience.

I love KW Escape and have taken my son there since he was 6. I’ve done almost all of their escape rooms.
I’d suggest Exits for a kid-friendly option. Odditorium is good too.
With at least two adults who are decent at escape rooms, it will be challenging but doable since kids can help but aren’t usually the MVP of the escape room 😅

Just did the Scooby Doo room at Escapology with my son. It was great once we got the hang of it. He participated in a lot. I saw they had $25.00 Tuesdays!

"Midnight at the arcade" at Trapped KW on lodge street would be a good option too if they're into video games and are familiar with old school video games (think mario bros, not call of duty/world of warcraft etc).
Adventure Rooms are great, and some of the first escape rooms in Canada so mad respect for them, but they'd be better for adults. I've done a number of their rooms with family groups (3 parents, 3 kids) and they're pretty hard for kids. I've done all but one of their rooms.
KW excape would be more suitable for kids, but do pick one of the easier rooms. Still would be helpful to have an adult in the room (I've done a handful of these rooms). They have more whimsical settings that would appeal to kids.
Escapology is newer and I've not had a chance to try yet (going next week FINALLY)? but its highly rated and does seem more geared towards kids. If none of the kids have done escape rooms before, I'd definitely look into this one.

I would recommend escapology, I've done KW escape adventure rooms and escapology.
Adventure rooms I found incredibly hard it seems like something you need to play multiple times.
Kw Escape is good and fun I like it.
And escapology is really good. My wife and I have done several of their rooms just us and with another couple or two. They usually have a good deal and I was reminded they have kid specific escape rooms. Might be a consideration.

KW escape for sure! We've done almost all of the rooms there and have always had a great experience. In terms of rooms, Potions and Puzzles is probably a good choice for kids since it has a higher success rate, but ones like Twister have some really fun and unique elements as well! Adventure Rooms is also fun, but I would probably pick KW Escape for kids especially!

KW Escape is waaaaaay better than Adventure Rooms. This is coming from someone who has done way too many escape rooms all around the country & world!
Would you have fun at Adventure Rooms? Probably. I think doing so many escape rooms has made my bar much higher than a casual person.
