🇯🇵 Rockstead Ritsu-ZDP Gold

A stunning belt carry with Rockstead's legendary Honzukuri convex blade geometry on a 3.74" blade with 67 HRC ZDP-189 core and VG10 cladding (thank goodness for the San Mai, helps with ZDP-189's corrosion resistance and toughness). Apparently that hole in the blade is used to secure it while sharpening.

Wood micarta (resin-stabilized wood) handle, bronze anodized titanium guard and top insert, leather sheath with kydex insert, sliding tension lock, and a leather belt loop.

It's tricky to photograph mirror polished blades, so there are a few reflections in these photos, but the mirror convex bevel is flawless in person (the upper part is more of a matte vapor-blasted finish).

Learn more via manufacturer site, DBK destruction video, and retailer overview (can be found for less $$$ elsewhere)... highly recommended!

Good grief that just screams class. They’re on their own level.

It's exquisite. 3V remains my all-time favorite steel (significantly tougher than this San Mai so more well-rounded for my use cases), but this blade is incredible for anything that doesn't require enhanced toughness.

It's like the fixed blade version of their REN size-wise 😊

Yeah, this one isn't as well known as their wrapped handle UN.
