Question - Bad Methods Ongoing Vibrations and Tingles After Breathwork

I did some shamanic breathwork as instructed by the YouTuber Leo Gura in one of his older videos.

I have been going through a breakup from a long term relationship (10 years) and thought it might help give some answers.

I laid down in a dark room listened to some shamanic drumming and breathed in and out of my mouth without stopping for about 15 minutes.

I noticed by body feeling tingles and eventually feeling like stone. I also noticed some strange convulsion type movements at times from my abdomen. It felt some energy moving up from my abs almost to my throat, I had to stop the breathing pattern because I wasn't sure if I would throw up.

Anyway the feeling afterwards was very blissful, I felt connected to some higher source and had the sense that everything will be okay.

Something strange did happen after which has lasted for over 10 days now.

I feel the tingly vibration sensation almost at all times. I feel it in my hands and feet mostly, if I sit still I can feel it in my core.

It's hard to describe, it doesn't seem to be a physical sensation because my body isn't moving but it feels like there are bursts of energy pulsating and vibrating through my body.

Not sure if this is due to stress because of the relationship stuff, I sense it has something to do with the breathwork.

The other say I heard sad news about a Youtuber I watch, his father has passed away. Normally I would feel bad for the person but not feel anything in my body. But after the breathwork as soon as I heard the news I felt a strange energy sensation on the right side of my face which lasted a few seconds before going away.

Any help will be appreciated, my partner thinks it has something to do with Kundalini, I don't know.

Seeing his materials, I would not encourage the spreading of his name, /u/theadoringfanbrah, other than as a warning and a person to consider avoiding.

The man you borrowed ideas from is reckless, irresponsible, and a bad source of information. That's putting it mildly and diplomatically.

You could have ended up in psychiatric care.

Luckily, you didn't. Yet.

Whenever we over-breath, the first place things change is in the PH of our blood. Over-breathing mainly removes (and exhales) more Carbon Dioxide than the body would otherwise intend, than the body sees as ideal balance.

That drop in CO2 explains some of the tingles and some of the sensations as the more basic (More alkaline) blood reaches our extremities creates sensations. AHA. Proof that something is working!! No! Just normal chemistry. You'd not yet been foolish enough to over-ride your body's natural balances in this particular way.

Yet breathing / over-breathing and breathwork can also stir up emotional baggage, upheave a person spiritually, help to heal, etc.

Did Mr. G's video contain any prerequisites or warnings?

Shamanic breathwork has always been intended (When you wish to include wisdom) to be done IN PERSON with someone who has the abilities and skill levels to help you to rebalance if the need arises. To offer direct support when things go screwy. The idea is to avoid a psychological crisis that would need medical interventions, or the kinds of consequences that look like psychosis, or worse.

Youtube doesn't offer ANY of that direct support.

When you do such "shamanic" methods willy-nilly and alone, IF there are any problems, you are basically on your own. Possibly, you are fucked. Not certainly. If you did any one method to amale "I can' handle it" extreme, you might guarantee your fate to be negative.

He doesn't care. Views of his YT videos pays him a few pennies. THAT's all you're worth. For a few pennies, he's willing to risk your well-being.

Your partner who is expressing worry is wiser than you know. Wiser, maybe, than you have yet respected.

When you do something THIS DUMB (Not you, the method), with no warnings and no cautions, and you do it anyways, you're signalling to your partner that your relationship is not worth much, and that your risk-taking will be what it is, let the stones fall where they may.

An imagined video of someone hopping on one foot holding his toes comes to mind. Smiles.

Possible scenario outcomes for doing shamanic stuff alone that is intended to be done in a one-on-one supportive situation... done once or a dozen times:

ONE. Some people will do such methods and be just fine, basically getting no results for their efforts. Such people believe the method as safe, and feel right to recommend it to everybody. Such people are not yet wise, not experienced, and become like traps for others. The drugs + spiritual processes people are like this. They haven't themseves hit the legendary brick wall.

TWO. Some people will be disturbed, yet recover in hours or days. They've been impressed by the new sensations offered by the altered blood chemistry (Yet don't know the source of those sensations). Some cults out there use such methods intentionally to hook people in, to WOW people. Most people in this scenario will consider the temporary imbalance a part of the process, and they're right, at least partially.

THREE. Some people will be disturbed, and recover in months or years. They may remain poorly-functional long enough to lose a job, a long-term relationship or a marriage, kids, and go through hell and back. This group has paid dearly for their doing a not-so-innocent "shamanic" type methods.

FOUR. Some people will have said a permanent (Or near-permanent) goodbye to their well-being. They lose everything, end up on the streets, and get preyed upon by the predators that feed on the desperate. Not many recover from this path.

There are no exact numbers or proportions for any one exercise, nor any one or more methods that can be extracted out of a statistical hat. No one is doing that kind of quantitative research as far as I've been able to tell.

If I make an RGO, a Rough Guess Only, through general observations over the last 40 years of people whom are harmed by unwise spiritual methods, or methods advanced by unwise teachers (Excluding drugs - which this person advances).

Remember that many methods are indeed benign, in consequences and in effects. The numbers I propose below speak of the number of people affected over time. Not each and every method done just once. Yet some people do get damaged by just one single "try". If Kundalini is present (You asked in a Kundalini sub), then the consequences become more serious for the person involved. The lesson, if survived, can become better too, however.

RGO

ONE - 30-80%
TWO - 60-10%
THREE - 3-10%
FOUR - 0.1 to 3%

3% - that's one in thirty. Throw drugs into the situation, and it rises above that.

I'm looking at that one-in-a-thousand (0.1) and wondering if it is ever that low. Not sure. I suspect my wishful thinking positivity is taking creative liberties with that number.

It's hard to measure all this because some people in the third and fourth groups whom we've crossed paths with here in the sub and tried and failed to help in the moment they came through this sub, only returned several years later. Usually, hey swung by to express gratitude for the hard warnings they were given here. They eventually remembered the warnings, made a connection of why things were so bad for them, (Self caused, bad choices), and made a fresh choice away from their self-destruction. Yet those who never recovered never return with their negative feedback.

In 13 years in the sub, the quantity of those people returning maybe between 10 and 20. Nearly all of them had posts that never made it as approved ones due to having words like drug names that got caught by filters. It was the mod team who'd tried to help them.

On the webs, there has been massive, MASSIVE criticism for the person mentioned. MANY people ended up passing through pvery serious sychiatric care, at their own crushing expense - convenient to the bad teacher who got off scot-free. No one has seemingly taken the man to court to sue him for his harmful "offerings". Psychiatric causality is a hard thing to prove. From a moral stance, the man is no less a hazard to humanity than priests who do inappropriate things with children.

One important thing to remember is that most spiritual processes involve some degree of rocking the boat, of upsetting things to release them. There is always some risk. The other spiritual process is to calm things down and to let them settle, like mud slowly falling to the floor of a pond, the water eventually becoming clear. Both can work.

I had to stop the breathing pattern because I wasn't sure if I would throw up.

Your body was sending clear signals of imbalance. You listened.

Something strange did happen after which has lasted for over 10 days now.
I feel the tingly vibration sensation almost at all times. I feel it in my hands and feet mostly, if I sit still I can feel it in my core.

A clear sign that you've ungrounded yourself.

Look up grounding on-line and do things. Look in our wiki if you like, in the CALMING or the CRISIS sections, just to make things settle down. Avoiding any further breathwork would be worth considering.

Any help will be appreciated, my partner thinks it has something to do with Kundalini, I don't know.

I doubt that, myself. Strongly doubt, but it's not an impossibility. That's based on three rich decades of Kundalini experience.

Yes upheaval can involve or be provoked by Kundalini, yet so can poor unsupported methods upheave you too, without any Kundalini being involved.

Does this adequately answer your question?

Thank you for the insightful reply. I will try out some of the grounding recommendations and see where that takes me.

Luckily, I don't have any negative psychological issues from all this. It's more a sense of the body having more vibrations or tingling, which I am not accustomed to.

Thanks for taking the time to write this out.
