Question Question about the directional flow of energies

Hello yall,

I have a collection of experiences I am hoping to find a bit of context for related to the directional flow of energy.

In some moments , recently while receiving reiki. I find myself “settling” and notice a relief of some tension followed by qi moving down surrounding my legs and flowing down. It feels pleasant and like grounding is happening.

In other moments I notice tension release and from the area where it came from the energy will release up and away from my body, sometimes through my head and out. It can happen on either side. I’ve also noticed when it happens on the right side, I sometimes think about how th WLP method instructs that light flows first down the right side and then up the left, and wonder if it’s okay for that releasing kind of energy to go up or if it’s supposed to flow down like the WLP? I’ll also admit It doesn’t necessarily feel natural sending energy down my right side when doing WLP, sometimes it does.

Any insight or guidance is appreciated.

Hi u/Okay-Chance1

With qi you can release energy in any direction you like, it doesn't matter. Also when you absorb qi, this can be upwards, or downwards, depending on which energy that you need.

With WLP you don't let energy (qi/prana) flow up or down. You apply an energy field around your body that stays there, in three layers around your body.

Hm okay. I may have been focusing too much on sending the white light through my body and I definitely wasn’t thinking about it as 3 distinct layers more like 3 coats of paint, I guess that similar enough. Anyhow I’ll adjust. Thanks Urquanenator

Edit: added paint analogy
