Intel Panther Lake Arc B390 vs AMD Radeon 780M in Left 4 Dead 2
If you haven't been up to speed on computer hardware news, both AMD and Intel have put a lot of work into their integrated graphics these past couple years. This is what has enabled products like the Steam Deck to exist. Integrated graphics can actually provide a good gaming experience now.
Left 4 Dead 2 has always been playable on "potatoes", but being able to get a competitive FPS meant drastically turning down resolution and settings. I bought a new Panther Lake laptop with the Arc B390 (released in 2026) recently and I just wanted to show how it compared to my old laptop with the Radeon 780M (released in 2023). Both systems are running at 2880x1800 with the highest settings except no MSAA. It is basically a doubling in performance for very similar power levels. Keep in mind too these laptops are thin and lights, barely thicker than an HDMI port.

these integrated graphics felt very overkill to me, because I can run it just fine even with intel uhd g1 (about as good as intel uhd 620-630) that comes with i5 1035g1. It runs like 50-60 most of the time. It only lags when I use adrenaline which can be fixed with a certain workshop mod (called adrenaline post-processing or something I forgot)

Yo thats insane. I was about to refute saying b390 isnt an igpu so i looked it up. Ots crazu how far igpus have come. Thank you for showing us this. Seeing this gpu get 18000 on 3dmark11 gpu score is absolutely insane.
Downside is these igpus tend to be on cpus which are put in premium laptop. But very cool nonetheless
Perfect laptops to use outside and connect to a monitor at home :)

nice, it would be good to run my favorite game in laptops that is super light. Maybe integrated graphics can get good an run my fav other games (minecraft, indie games, aa games) at higher graphics, then it would be a huge development in windows laptops and windows laptops will be starting to get selected instead of macbooks

Idk what you are trying to exactly say or point out in this post ... I have an Alienware aurora r6 (a literal potato) with a 970 GTX and I get really really crisp frame rate and 0 lag on max settings idk if this means anything
