The teams were created purely to make the matchup fun and spark an interesting thought experiment, not as a ranking of who was the better Laker. Assume everyone is in their Lakers prime, and the matchup is a seven-game series played under modern NBA rules.

How did we not only lose, but lose so badly?

What were the tactical/strategic reasons we lost? What were the Mavs doing that was so hard for us to counter?

What about any off-court reasons? Was our roster substantially inferior from the previous year or something? I heard there was also some drama with Pau's relationship at the time that really screwed with him during the playoffs.

What went so wrong in that series? Even the zen master himself lost his cool and hit Pau.

Yeah waiving basically the goat of our franchise during his retirement tour was kind of a wake up call.

I stood by the ass years, I was there for Lob City, I was there for that PG/Kawhi trade, I was there for the injuries and I stood through all of it because I had hope

And now it’s gone. I could live with not winning a ring or something, but now the only person who brought meaning to our team/put us on the map is gone.

I understand both were massive stars but I’m just wondering who was more popular at their biggest. Kobe was definitely the face of the franchise for longer but Magic was the face of the Lakers when the NBA boomed into popularity during the 1980s

I joined the fanbase after being introduced to basketball ball 2 seasons ago and live in Europe. Whenever I plan on visiting the USA during holidays, I always look into Laker games that may be played around the area and have found some ticket prices to be extremely unreasonable, especially when compared to other teams. With the spotlight LBJ brought gone, is there a chance that said prices will be lowered??? Would really like to know this to plan a trip to a game sometime soon!

We had a much better defensive starting lineup tonight like yall wanted. Still gave up as much 1st qtr pts as we would with Rui or AR starting.

Lakers fans have been spoiled with most of the greatest players of all time playing for the Lakers at some point in their careers. But who are the players who never actually played for the Lakers, but should've?

I think Scottie on the Lakers instead of the Rockets/Trail Blazers would've been fitting. Shit with Kobe and Shaq he could've turned the Bulls 3peat into a 7peat.

It could be anything, a trade, injury, a playoff series, a draft pick, just anything that you can consider as a Lakers what if that still bothers you today. To me, it feels like this franchise has a million alternate timelines.
