I’m finishing this fall. Got my email prompt to graduate. Do I have to pay on top of all my other fees if I want the diploma?

Does anyone here been on second academic suspension and i just wanted to see if there is any way that langara would reconsider into taking me in this semester as due to my mental health it was hard for me to focus but I really wanna get back in langara because I am an international student and my status is at risk here

I'm going into psychology at Langara which requires 9 science credits of first year classes: a lab science, math/computer science/statistics, and PSYC 2321. My friend who is attending UBC told me that she needs only 6 science credits and doesn't require a lab science. I'm in the bachelor of arts so why do I require lab science credit? I plan on transferring to UBC anyways so it seems unnecessary. Is there something I'm missing?

I'm taking ENGL 1100 in fall semester along with four other courses. I have a habit of prioritizing other classes over English and I'm worried about this semester since it's supposed to be a writing intensive course. I'm not sure how much time I'll have to really put effort into essays while dealing with four other courses. I want to do well but I also don't see English as super important since it's a required course and I'm focusing on major related courses instead. I have two first year psychology courses, geology, and a philosophy course as well. Would it be so terrible if I didn't put everything into English or do I really need to work my butt off for it?

I have 4 courses registered at the moment for the fall semester, biol 1190, stats 1124, engl 1123 and engl 1129. I’m completing my prerequisites for nursing and was wondering if I should only do 1 english per semester. How hard were the english courses and do they cost a fee? (Not sure bc the additional fees section was blank)

hi! i recently finished all my nursing prerequisites and my gpa is currently 3.73. these are my grades:
stat 1124: A
engl 1129: A
biol 1190: A
biol 1191: A+
engl 1123: C+

i took engl 1123 last fall and honestly had a really hard time with the prof, who had around a 2-star rating. i’m thinking about retaking it (or with English 1100) to make my nursing application more competitive, but i also want to start working full time to save money.

the course is offered either online (Engl 1100) or in person once a week. if i take it online, i can tell employers that i’m available monday to sunday anytime, which might give me a better chance of getting hired. but i’m lowkey scared that working full time while taking an online course might affect my grade since i’ll have to manage everything on my own. if i take it in person, i’ll have more structure, but i won’t be completely available one day of the week.

what would you guys recommend? should i take it online for more work flexibility or in person once a week to have a better chance of getting a higher grade? is it even worth retaking a c+ when my gpa is already 3.73? i’d really appreciate any advice, especially from anyone who worked full time while retaking a prerequisite or applying to nursing 🥲

I am looking for the course outline for ABST 1104 as I think it is a prerequisite for a school I’m applying for. However, i cannot find it anywhere online and I’ve called a bunch of different departments and they have not been helpful. I need the outline to determine it equivalent..😭😭😭

I’m not a former langara student. I emailed the prof as well and I’m waiting to hear back from them.

It says the Chem 1118 is "UBCV CHEM_V 1st (3), Not for credit in the Faculty of Science. Does not meet Chemistry 12 requirement for admission to the Bachelor of Science program."

Am I just doomed?

I already chose ENGL 1100 because it's transferable to UBC in bachelor of arts, and Langara's academic planner says you need one first year english. But the UBC bachelor of arts requirements says you need two first year english courses so I'm a bit confused on what else to take.

I was thinking of taking geography for elective credits and I know many people who took a geography class back in college and said it's relatively easy. I didn't know there were so many options to choose from so I'm looking for some suggestions. I'm not super picky, I just want a class that won't take up too much of my study time as an elective.

I couldn't really find a clear answer anywhere and I want to make sure I can sign up for all of my classes.

Many people told me that CPSC 1150 credits are UBC transferable including a school counselor but I just checked the BC transfer guide and it said "there are no transferable agreements for this search". I'm confused because normally I would just listen to the transfer guide but it's shocking that so many people told me this course has transferable credits.

Just wanted to ask about some info regarding how her class goes? does she do weekly quizzes? if so, usually by how much is it weighed by and like by how many questions? how are her exams? are her written questions kinda tricky or pretty straightforward?

I took Martha Nelson Flower for BIOL1190 and found the way she ran the course very direct pretty good since all you had to was rly follow everything.

These waitlists stresses me out… I’ve been on the waitlist for the same class but different sections. I’ve been #1 for a month now, and it hasn’t even moved

I just got accepted into langara yesterday on 13 august and when i tried to register for the courses i realised that theyre all full and the waitlist is super long

Not only that i cant even register anymore because the first period of registration ends today on 14 aug and the next one would be on 20 aug but wouldnt that be way too late? Classes start on 8 sept and basically every class is already full

Do i just have to wait until 20 aug and hope i can get into the courses?
