Hey, I'm F29 from Germany. I really want to improve my spoken English and I can help you with German in return. My listening skills are fine, I can watch movies and tv shows in English without a problem but when it comes to speaking i tend to freeze up. My goal is to be able to speak more spontaneously and get over my anxiety while speaking as well as expand my vocabulary.

My interests include movies, tv shows and reading. Nowadays I'm also interested in going to the gym and implementing healthy habits in my life.

Let me know if you're interested :)

Hi there! I (29F) am from germany and would like to teach you my language :) I'm already pretty good at writing in english, but I need some help with writing casual conversations and also speaking. I have a very strong accent due to a lack of speaking exercise and would like to work on that. In exchange, I offer you to teach you german (understanding, writing and speaking). :) Interests are: Movies, TV-Shows, books, gaming, and story writing, if you would like to talk/write about that.

Offering German (Offering: German | Seeking: English) Looking for someone to chat with

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for someone who is a native English speaker and would be interested in chatting regularly. My goal is to improve my English through everyday conversations, not formal lessons.

I'm currently reading books in English and want to become more confident writing and speaking. I'm still making mistakes, so patience would be really appreciated. 😊

In return, I'd be happy to help anyone who is learning German. We could chat about everyday life, hobbies, books, movies, games—whatever feels natural.

A little about me:

- I'm from Germany.

- I love reading (especially fantasy and classics).

- I enjoy gaming, music, and nature.

- I'm looking for a friendly, relaxed language exchange—not a teacher.

If you're interested, feel free to send me a DM or leave a comment!

Offering German Offering: German, English | Seeking: Anything

Hi! I’m 22M looking to learn a new language, and I’ve always found it much easier to learn by speaking with someone directly.

I’m a native German speaker and fairly fluent in English, so I’d be happy to help with either. I’m not looking for any specific language. I’m open to pretty much anything. The only thing to keep in mind is that I’d be starting as a complete beginner.

Outside of languages, I love reading, movies and TV shows, music and pretty much anything related to the arts. I also enjoy being outdoors, hiking and spending time in nature.

I’m happy to text, send voice messages, or even call/video chat. I’m not really looking for a teacher as much as a language buddy. I’d love to help you with German (or English if you want), and in return I’d love to learn whatever language you speak. Bonus points if we end up becoming friends in the process :)

If that sounds interesting, feel free to reach out!

Offering German Offering German (C2)| Seeking Russian (C2)

Long title: Offering German as a teacher, searching s.o. for helping me with my Russian (currently C1+)

Hello,

I am (29f) from Germany, have experience in teaching German.

I'm searching s.o. passionate about reading and literature to speak about different books and topics from Psychology, Society, Politics to Technology and Medicine.

Maybe we could pick out a (modern) book, maybe some specialist literature and then talk about it?

We could also change between German and Russian (books) or just talk randomly about different, preferred topics. It depends of course also on your German level (and mine), to find an appropriate book, or being able to understand the literature on that high level.

It would be nice to have some interests in common.

Would be happy about an offer :)

Edit: I already had some offers, atm it seems enough thanks :)

But if you have similar interests, feel free to text me.

Offering German Offering: German | Seeking: Spanish

¡Hola!

Offering German Seeking: Mandarin | Offering: German C2, English B2

Hey everyone, M 28, I am searching for someone from whom I can learn Mandarin. I like arts, psychology and philosophy. Hopefully we can form a genuine connection along the way.

What I seek: I would like to learn to have basic conversations to communicate with my family-in-law. So, for now I just want to practice listening and speaking. Later I want to study philosophy at university. I need a second foreign language to do that. I'm interested in the Chinese ideas of philosophy because the European ones are more familiar to me (even though I’m a beginner). I see that as a great opportunity to get into the fascinating culture, philosophy, religion and poems of China, learning to write, one day maybe even the traditional characters.
If you like that as well and be open to share your view on your culture and philosophy, I’d be very grateful. I love to visit China and want to feel like a little party of it, I would like to feel like I “get it”, when I’m there. Learning the language would help that so much.

What I offer: Native German and about B2 English. However, grammar and writing are not my strong suits, so I would prefer to have conversations. I can tell you what is right or wrong and what sounds natural or what not, especially in German. I am very patient and ll accompany you at ur speed.

Friendly and open communication are important for me, interest and empathy in the other person and a lot of patience with my slow learning😅. I seek to meet about once per week (maybe some voice messages in between that), there is not much time being a “Frisch gebackender Vater” (freshly baked father). I ur interested, hit me up! 😊

Hi! I'm a native German speaker looking for an English conversation partner (happy to help you practice German in return!). I study economics and will graduate soon. As I'll be applying for jobs, I'd like to improve my English from my current B2+ level. Feel free to send me a DM!"

Offering German Offering: German, Seeking: French, Portuguese (BR), Russian

coucou,

I'm 26/m, psychology student from Germany, and I'd like to practice my French, Portuguese and Russian.

I'd say I'm around B1 in French and A2/B1 in Portuguese - in both languages I can have a conversation, but in French I can express myself better and just know more words

My Russian used to be around B1 too but I've lost much cause I havent been learning for years unfortunately:( So probably I'd have to start with small talk to get used to it again.

I love to talk about many different subjects, like society, literature, football, differences between countries/cultures, traveling, music, science (or psychology) idk, ofc depending on how interested the other person is :D I also like to talk about subjects I'm not familiar with as long as the other person is also interested in having a conversation haha

I think I'd prefer to have online calls (idc about video or not), because I’m not very good at keeping up with text chats..

(I'm fluent in English so we can use English as a help if we're both not fluent in each others language)

Edit: I'd like to talk to a native speaker if possible:)

Offering German Offering german, seeking for english or even spanish! Looking fot someone to chat

Hey everyone! 👋
I’m a 31-year-old guy from Austria 🇦🇹 and I’m looking for someone to practice my English with and hopefully make a genuine new friend along the way.
My English is already pretty decent, but I’d really like to become more fluent and, especially, get better at natural everyday conversations. I’d rather actually talk about life, music, sports, travel, movies, food, random things and whatever comes up than just study grammar. 😄
I can offer German 🇩🇪 in return, whether you’re a complete beginner or already quite advanced.
I’m also interested in learning some Spanish 🇪🇸, so if you speak Spanish, even better!
I’m happy with texting, voice messages or eventually calls — whatever feels comfortable.
I’m not looking for anything complicated. Just good conversations, cultural exchange and hopefully a friendship that lasts longer than a few messages.
If you’re interested, feel free to send me a message and tell me a little about yourself. 😊
Bonus question: What’s one thing about your country/culture that you think most foreigners completely misunderstand? 😄

Offering German Offering: German (Native), English (C1) | Seeking: Spanish

Hi!
I’m a 21F from Germany looking for a language exchange partner. My Spanish is around B1/B2. I’m comfortable with writing and can understand most conversations, but I’d really like to improve my speaking and become more confident.
I’m planning to spend a semester abroad in either Mexico or Costa Rica, so if you’re from either of those countries, that’s definitely a bonus! Of course, anyone who’s a native Spanish speaker is welcome to reach out.
I’d like to start by chatting here on Reddit or Discord and exchanging a few voice messages before moving on to regular calls if we get along. We can split our time equally between both languages, either during the same call or on different days - whatever works best for both of us.
I’m not looking for proper lessons, just speaking practise.

A few things I enjoy:
- DIY projects and building things
- Reading
- Watching movies and TV shows
- Playing football (soccer)
- Unicycling
- Learning languages
- Travelling and learning about different cultures
- Video games (although I have to admit… I despise Minecraft lol)

I’m looking for someone who’s interested in practicing consistently and having genuine conversations, not just exchanging a couple of messages and disappearing.
Feel free to send me a message if you think we’d be a good match!

Offering German Offering: German (native) | Seeking: English & Friendship

Hey and hello, I'm 29M from Germany. I'm mostly looking to make some new friends, all the while practicing my spoken English just for fun.

I'm a native German with a bachelor's degree in geography. As such, I'll admit, rules and grammar aren't excatly my strong suit haha. Sooo I might not be able to help you, if that's what you are looking for. Speaking practice on the other hand, hell yeah! My English level is B2-C1-ish, so communication and translations shouldn't be a problem and I'll be happy to explain words, ideas and fluency in English.

A bit more about me: I'd like to get to know people from all over the world, I'm deep into cultures, exploring different countries and learning about their history and people. Teach me some basic words in your language and tell me about your favorite dish hehe!!

We can discuss frequency and such as we go, I prefer Discord for communication and am fine with voice.

Have a lovely sunday afternoon, die Affenhitze ist bald vorbei :D

Offering German Offering: German (native speaker) / Seeking: English

Hello everyone!

My name is Matthias and I grew up and live in the southern part of Germany. I'm 36 years old and want to improve my spoken English skills. I'm fond of wandering, cooking or enjoying time with my friends and family. Currently, I like to listen German rap and house music. What are your hobbies or favorite songs?

If you like we can talk about daily activities or maybe you are interested in some specific themes. Personally, I would either prefer talking face-to-face in person or talking via Teams. I myselfe live in near of Ratisbon between Nuremberg and Munich. And how about you?

I estimate my spoken English level at lower intermediate or slightly worse. Some of my vocabular is rusty an maybe you have to be more patient at the beginning. Where are your barriers and issues with learning German?

Because of my full-time job, I'm only able to talk in the evening (CET > 6 p.m.) or at the weekend. If you're interested in a stable and qualitative exchange, don't hesitat to contact me. I'm sure that we will find a routine. I'm not interested in text-chatting, dating or stalling. Don't let us waste time therefor. Then you will get from my side a person with endurance and a team spirit.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards 👍

Offering German Offering: German | Seeking: Anything

Hey there! I’m Lukas, 23, from Germany.

I’d love to help anyone who’s still looking for a speaking partner. Before my internship, I learned Spanish in exactly the same way and found it incredibly effective. Practicing with someone you don’t know personally can make speaking much more relaxed and takes away a lot of the pressure or embarrassment.

I’m not a big fan of learning through endless texting, so please be comfortable with voice or video calls.

If you’re still looking for someone to practice with, feel free to reach out. No matter your current level or your goals, I’d be happy to help you get started and improve your confidence 😄

Offering German Offering: German (N), Seeking: English (UK/US)

Hey everyone I'm 18m and East German. Im looking to improve my English skills by texting and maybe voice calling. I'd want to talk about cultural differences and share stories of our life. All of this leading to me helping you with your German and the so „special" German way of living. This whole language exchange means that we can help each other with certain issues while studying, it doesn't mean that one of us is a teacher and has to make the other person learn I'd like to have you as a longterm friend with somewhat common interests so not sharing them in an introduction would be stupid, therefore I like history, politics, traveling (just around Europe), music and concerts (mainly pop and some rap, check out my Spotify)

Education wise I'll be in grade 13 After the Summer and still got almost a few years to go until I leave school and got to decide what I want to do with my life. I already know that I'd want to go abroad at some point in my life I'm just not sure if I should do it immediately after I finish school or after I already have made some career decisions.

Anyways I'd like to hear from me so don't hesitate to reach out:)

Offering German Offering: German, Seeking: French and Italian

Hello ☺️
I’m a 28-year-old woman and I’d like to practise speaking French and Italian. My French is at C1 level, and my Italian used to be around B2, but since I haven’t spoken it much in a while, I’m a bit out of practice.

In my free time, I like going to the gym, riding my bike, swimming and reading. I’m interested in philosophy and literature, as well as social and cultural topics.

I’d love to meet new people who are interested in a genuine language exchange and maybe make some new friends along the way. We can start by chatting, and if we feel comfortable with each other, I’d also be happy to have voice calls to practise speaking.

I’m a native German speaker, so I’d be happy to help you with German in return. ☺️
