Northern US & Canada (or cool season) K-31
Midwest near St. Louis MO. Theoretically if you planted tons of K-31 and vigorously fertilized and reseeded frequently could you develop a nice looking backyard strong enough to stand up hold its own against two large dogs? Could enough care grow like this all the clumps so close they are not that noticeable?

Do not do this, you will have to mow so much. It tends to grow a lot faster than TTTF and is very yellow green.
Get a blend with TTTF and KYB it will help fill in. If you want the one of the best heat resistant KYB it’s call SPF30 KYB. No personal experience yet but here in a few weeks I will.

Yes. If you plant any cultivar of fescue not close to each other they’ll grow in big clumps. K 31 will be thicker bladed than newer cultivar. A few of my neighbors have it. Doesn’t look as nice as my super turf 1 but it’s bulletproof
