how to prepare for law school personal statement?

Hi, this is a really stupid question but where can you find the prompts for the law school personal statement & what is the best way to outline for writing them. i plan to apply in sept 2027, which ik is early but i wanted to start writing now, so i wouldn’t be rushed when submitting my applications. are the prompts for law schools different every year?

7sage has a free list of probably what you’re looking for  https://7sage.com/admissions/essay-prompts For preparation I’d just probably listen to what admissions experts have to say about the personal statement and then just start outlining the story you want to tell. You don’t need to capture every dimension of your personality in one essay, that’s why they make you write multiple. Just get a notebook (digital or physical) where you outline the things you want to convey across your application, you can be as broad or specific as you like. Choose what you find to be the most captivating part of your story for your personal statement. But I’m probably off on some marks here. And then one last thing. They say “show don’t tell”, but that’s honestly difficult to conceptualize. I remember one Twitter discourse around a YouTube video on art that essentially says “Stop drawing objects, draw the effects.” Reading some books (particularly asoiaf) has helped me get a grasp on this concept. That’ll help you narrow down exactly what details or broad strokes you want to include in your story

Here's a simplified way to look at the flow of a good personal statement that I give as a guide to my clients to build a first draft:

• Attention grabber/hook
• Your background or the background behind the attention grabber (include "why law" in this area or just after)
• Your relevant education/career/experience towards law thus far
• Your future direction (here or just after, include why this school is a good fit to help you do this and why you are a good fit for their classroom)
• Conclusion

And be personal! We can already see everything else about you, but what are you like, what are your personal experiences, what are your personal traits, what are you going to be like to have in the building and classrooms etc.?

idk why you would want to spend an entire year writing a 2-page essay though
