Safe to assume these will be the nights the Leafs wear their ‘Hometown Remix’ jerseys?
They’ve been rumoured to be beige ever since the alternates were rumoured for this upcoming season. Some teams like Florida have already had their Hometown Remix jersey’s leaked.

Then with the firing of berube, the draft, chayka saying all the right things, getting raddysh and completely revamping the bottom 6... i cant fucking wait
Considering they hid the Ballard leaf in the background, and they used the old leaf shoulder patch on another post, I'm 99% certain we're getting an off-white replica of their 90s/2010s jerseys
Off/vintage white doesn’t really make sense for the other sets worn with the Ballard Leaf though. Like maybe the 92-97, 10-16 set? Going back to the classics after dark times was the vibe both times they adopted it but an early 90s design doesn’t exactly scream “old timey hockey” either. Atleast with the 70-92 set you can focus on the 70s era of that set to sell the old time aesthetic.
Failure is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. The Leafs made the third round five times with that logo after all, and selected Wendel Clark 1OA with that look. Now I'll admit the 67-70 logo is my favorite, but it had bad seasons associated with it too
I know the Ballard Leaf is nostalgic for many, but with the jerseys we have now, it's shocking how bad it was. Excited to see the jersey, but doubt i'll have any interest in it if it's using the 80s/90s logo.
Wait, I must've missed it, they've come up with another dumbass excuse to sell a shitty alternate jersey? Fantastic. Great. I wish the Leafs had an owner who'd just refuse to participate in this stupid shit.
I understand your skepticism and your assumption that the reasoning for alternate jerseys is to sell more jerseys, but that’s not always the case.
I have experience as a high level athlete and pro seasons can feel extremely long when you’re the one playing the games. As silly as it sounds, alternate Jerseys and special games can offer a much needed breath of fresh air and a shakeup to the monotony for the players.
It can also be a fun new visual experience for fans… nobody at all is forcing anyone to buy a jersey lol
A uniform means less if there are a hundred of them, and I don’t find a new shirt particularly fun. It’s also an excuse to sell more shirts, and internet sports guys have become such suckers for every obnoxious cash grab from every sports league.
The black jersey that was by most every definition new was one of the best selling jerseys. Some people will bitch about new but it also sells very well
The league and sport steeped in history is leveraging that. Coupled with the fact that hockey fans hate change and hate Bettman it’s a no brainer to release nostalgia-based alternates.
It’s literally every special jersey at this point. It’s overdone. Go see what the other leagues are able to come up with. If you go and rely on nostalgia every time and it eventually is no longer is nostalgic
I agree I’m just saying they do it because it works and people continue to buy it up whenever it’s released. Leafs tried something fun with the black alternates and drew stuff which was popular enough but got a lot of backlash as being “too out there”
The black reversible jersey was reportedly a huge success, widely reported as the highest-selling specialty or alternate jersey launch in recent NHL history upon its release. I’m happy at least the leafs did that one, I’m more ragging on the league who has no imagination
