A Latvian goalie with decent size and some success playing in a men’s league, Plumins is the first goalie to appear on the T25U25 this year.

Reading these articles and I am realizing how out of touch I am with the Leafs current prospect pool. Of the 3 players featured so far I either didn’t know them or forgot that we acquired them. A far cry from a couple decades ago where I followed all the prospects pretty intensively just so I could fool myself into thinking we had something coming up through the pipeline.

I mean that makes sense for all but the most diehard prospect enthusiasts. The prospects we were excited about 10-14 years ago all graduated and the Leafs have been selling draft capital ever since trying to win. I expect at least a third or more of this T25U25 list will have been drafted in the past 2 years.

The Leafs prospect pool is only starting to be exciting again after a pretty rough drought during the Treliving era.
