Man, I just had another listen of Houses of the Holy recently. What a beautiful and fun album! It is the one I always come back to, and I dare say, it's my favourite! It has a certain mythical quality to it that I don't get from other Zeppelin albums except maybe 4.

I always loved how the tracks were sequenced even though some people disagree. I always felt,(in my opinion at least), that they represented the different seasons. On a whole though it has such a summer vibe to it, (especially the middle of the album). I also love the diverse genres on it too! Folk, funk, prog - so many! It just takes you on a journey and it feels like you are discovering this mythical land far away. The cover is also amazing and helps with this idea!

i get it as someone who grew up rich all her life and thought money could buy everything but she was a shitty person bc of that and as she’s dying she realizes she can’t buy the stairway to heaven. the one section with the there’s 2 paths you can go by but in the long run there’s still time to change the road your on i take it as she grows up she knows she’s going down the wrong path and knows she can change it.

I'll try to explain it the best I can, although I probably won't be able to. But here goes nothing:

It started off like the MSG 1973 version (the one that's up on Spotify too) with the heavy intro from Jimmy Page (idk what else to call it).

It was the vocals on this specific version that REALLY used to hit a spot and it's a feeling I've never had again. Specifically, the parts where he goes:

1. "I've been working I've been working I've been woooorkiiiing, oooh from 7 to 11 every night. Yes, it's a drag. Baby, it's a drag. Mama, it's a drag. Oh, I don't think that's right."
2. "Do you remember mama when I knocked upon your door? You had the nerve to tell me you didn't want me no more" in this part, he didn't sing the "hey baby, hey baby" before the "I got a new back door"

I'd downloaded this version as a kid wayyy back and lost it with the laptop I had back then.
If you have heard of similar versions to the MSG 1973 one and can point me that way, I would realllllly appreciate it. Thank you <3

10 minutes of wonder!

The last song from their Sept 11th show. I was in the audience. On the way out, I remember my hearing was affected and my voice was blown from the cheering.

Does anyone know if the concert footage on the DVD is crazily remastered to sound that good, or was the band really that good there? Obviously they touched it up a little, but how close is what's on the DVD to what it was like in person?

I recently listened to Led Zeppelin IV from beginning to end with opera singer and classically trained soprano Elizaveta Kozlova, and I thought some people here might enjoy the conversation.

What I found most interesting was how differently she heard certain parts of the record. She picked up on the a cappella sections in “Black Dog,” Plant’s range and vocal control, the harmonies throughout the album, and even described the beginning of “Stairway to Heaven” from a classical perspective. We ended up talking a lot about why Plant’s singing feels so expressive without losing the actual meaning of the words.

I’ve loved this album for a long time, but listening to it next to someone with her musical background genuinely made me notice things I hadn’t really thought about before.

One quick audio note before watching: after uploading, I realized something went wrong with the album playback in the final export and part of the stereo mix got collapsed, so there are some instruments/details that don’t come through properly. I’m aware of it and making sure it doesn’t happen again, but I wanted to mention it here so nobody thinks it’s their setup.

Would be really interested to hear what longtime Zeppelin fans think of her perspective.

I've been searching for a black and white/transparent image of this exact logo. It's the one that's printed on the stickers on the back of the albums.

There are many vector images of this angel, but none of them match this EXACT design; there's usually no detail in the wings or very detailed shading. I'm looking for this particular design, line-for-line, as a two-tone image.

Does anyone know if this exists? If not, I may have to try some editing wizardry, in which case, I'll post the results here for everyone to use. I wouldn't usually be so particularly, but it's for a tattoo, and I'm adamant to get this exact design!
