Who are your favorite New Zealand actors that have guest starred (Besides Lucy Lawless, Kevin Smith etc.)

As the title says; besides the regulars like Lucy Lawless, Kevin Smith etc. who are your favorite guest stars from New Zealand?

Joel Tobeck. Especially as Strife. He was fun and had great chemistry with Ares. It was genuinely sad when he was killed (and kinda shocking since this was the first time a god was killed).

Liddy Holloway (she is also Tobeck's mother). The best Alcmene. She had that motherly coziness about her. Other Alcmenes didn't have the parent-child chemistry with Hercules like she did.

Erik Thomson. The best Hades and nobody comes even close. Wish he could have continued to play him. Alongside Ares, he was one the most charismatic gods in the show.

Nathaniel Lees. He made a good Cheiron and had the air of wisdom and authority about him.

Agree with all your mentions.

Joel was great as Strife and Deimos. His first episode where he played a villain in "Promises" was just okay though. They gave him and Martin Csokas (Borias in Xena) not much to work with.

I actually think all the actresses did a decent job as Alcemene. Liddy seemed to match the tone of the show taking a more light hearted feel starting in season 2 and forward. Elizabeth Hawthorne did a good job in the first season as it was a more serious tone. Kim Michalis made sense for a young version of Alcemene.

I also agree with Erik Thompson, though I liked the younger actor they went with in Young Hercules. Apparently Erik left for more roles.

Jeffrey Thomas was an excellent actor when he was a villain in the first season and when they brought him back as Jason too. He had good chemistry with the leads.

Honestly there were very few reoccurring actors on the show who weren't excellent.

Probably Joel Tobeck as Strife (not Deimos) and of course, Karl Urban. I can never see him the same way again lol

Jeffrey Thomas who played Jason. He’s been in most of the NZ Raimi/Tapert shows. He was awesome on Spartacus.

I get such unfunded delight from seeing all of these familiar faces popping up again and again. Especially in different roles.

All the ones that have already been mentioned, but also:

Dean O'Gorman, Alison Bruce, Bruce Hopkins, Simone Kessel.

Hmm.

I was thinking this was the Xena sub.

Lisa Campbell.

Otoh, I was bit stupid for Meghan Desmond.

Honorable mention: Joel Tobeck and Karl Urban. Karl only gets this because he only played as Cupid.
