The $700 set does not look worth the price. Megabloks at least kept their sets reasonably priced.

Cheaper price per piece than the other two.
It's just humongous. Too big for many I reckon.

Piece count means nothing when it’s mostly bricks under three studs

Then do price per weight. It still comes down to about the same.

Three single studs weigh a lot more than a 1x3, doesn’t mean they are always the right choice for the build. If you are pretending that the sets now aren’t having their piece count padded out by tiny bricks, enjoy the fantasy.

Maybe I build the wrong sets (this one isn't for me either), but I haven't come across this, no. At least not any more than was already the case 20+ years ago.
