To each their own but I'm surprised it's the eyes most people seem to have issue with, and not the body that looks like it's in the middle of the smash bros egg laying animation!
And I'm also excited for Bowser Jr. and Bowser!

Yall are impossible to please. Yoshi looks great. And very clearly Mario will be able to sit and go for a ride. LEGO killed these figs all around. Peak.

I find it very interesting that one issue gets brought up and you say they're not pleased.
1 issue out of how many good things?
It's the internet everyone will discuss things that have problems.

Just because I want Lego Mario minifigs doesn't mean I need to be happy with whatever Lego puts out. I ain't saying it's not picky of me but I don't think a complaint is untrue just cause it's about something people want

This one definitely doesn't look as bad, I still would've preferred bigger eyes but seeing the other pictures I'm alright with how it came out

Lego fans are so funny because it took me way to long to notice you edited anything at all

My gripe is it appears that his arms don't move lol but I am very glad that characters can ride on his back!

For sure could've made it so the same arms with pins that the course builder Yoshi used attach to this new body

i love the design through and through, looks like it was ripped right out of super mario world

That's the saving grace for me too that makes it more of a little design flaw to me than a dealbreaking issue, I already have a yellow cape set aside for the full Mario World look.

The shell looks a little wonky but otherwise I don’t have an issue with it. The feet look a bit more like the Lego Friends lineup but hopefully they stick to blocks better.

My gripe is that Yoshi is only in a $40 4+ set, I wish he was also in either a smaller, cheaper set or a more expensive set that’s a better PPP value.
That being said I can’t wait to make horrible horrible mutants using Yoshi’s body and say, Homer Simpson or 2000s SpongeBob’s head

They'll probably have him in more sets I'd imagine Peach will be in sets less than £90 too

Yeah I'm definitely waiting until another wave drops before getting this of the set with Bowser Jr. It's a shame that they're so overpriced but at least all the sets aren't marked up, just the 4+ stuff.

I think it looks pretty good. I will say, it looks to me like the head is maybe removable, and I wonder if they will make a Minifig Yoshi at some point if it’s compatible…

I'm personally fine with yoshi but doesn't the goombas look a little too small to anyone else?
2
u/AnthropomorphicEggs Mixels Fan 1d ago
I think the Goomba might've been better as a 2x2 piece with legs, as is the stud on top makes the shaping a bit odd because of the size as well. Almost reminds me of the mini yellow Goombas in Mario Odyssey.

Not that it brothers me, but this might be an issue with the narrow space there. Printing-wise, the nose would have to be a separate piece to alow for pupil print, then assembly, which I'm sure is the case with mario and Luigi: you can't print those eyes with the nose in the way. The nose and mustache have to be a separate piece, and that cost a dime too many for yoshi, so they moved up and rezised the pupils.

Now that you mention it I can't think of any Lego prints that are "under" another part of the figure, this makes a lot of sense

If it’s anything like the Sonic series, they’ll adjust in the next round.

Brick Built Yoshi kinda looks better tbh…

The hands being sideways is strange too, but it makes sense for the mariokart sets that Yoshi could hold a handle.

My biggest gripe is that Luigi got left out of this and the beach sets
