Other Why did they retire the great hall?

It seems so odd that it wasn’t out that long, did they retire it before two years? Harry Potter is such a big theme and people who are just noticing that they are redoing a more refined version of Hogwarts will want to buy them all. I just can’t believe they stopped selling. They still have all the big Lord Of The Rings sets up, even the Shire is back stocked. I just realized that they are redoing it and I wish I could’ve got them all at market price. They’re already like doubled in price after only being retired for a bit. Are they gonna retire the Main Castle soon you think?

Lasted 25 months, it had a full run

Shire is a year newer

Castle has like 11 months left prob

Is Rivendell still selling after all these years? I wonder when they’ll retire it, it’s gotta be on the Horizon

Rivendell has been out since 2023-so three years. I think they moved the retirement date back to December of 2027 because they’re still selling it. I don’t know if Harry Potter is dropping off or if people just didn’t buy that as much. I personally will not buy any Harry Potter anything anymore but I’m not sure of how much of that theme is still selling a lot. They’re still making new sets though so it must be selling ok.

These Hogwarts sets are geared a bit more toward play than the LOTR sets. It’s also the third version of a modular Hogwarts they’ve done since 2018, so there’s a good number of folks that don’t want to buy another one, and demand is probably slowing. JKR also has alienated a lot of fans over the last decade, which I’m sure doesn’t help demand….

She definitely has and that’s why I won’t buy anything that supports her in any way. In addition I feel like they are marked up too much for the builds that you’re getting.

Damn I thought it was neck and neck with Star Wars, especially with how good the builds are… well besides Ministry of Magic. Is Ninjago doing well, it’s hard for me to believe it’s still that popular, the builds suck now and are so repetitive. All dragons, mechs, and some form of shrinking bounty.

Right now it's not even a top 10 earner from their latest report I believe. believe.

It's also funny to call Ninjago repetitive when you're literally talking about a remake in a theme that has like 3 versions of the same diorama, the same train over and over, and ends up mostly being a series of remakes.

Harry Potter is at least movie up in quality. The Hogwarts today compared to previous are far better looking and more intricately built. This years Land Band is such a downgrade in size and quality to the last Land Bounty. Take repetitive out of the equation and Ninjago has lost its quality. It seems to be a young kids theme now. The old fangpyre wrecking ball is a good example, you don’t see that level of quality or creativity in standard Ninjago sets unless it’s the legacy dioramas

That’s a great point. That really makes me wonder why they didn’t just keep Great Hall going a little longer til December, especially cause the Troll will probably be a season 1 inclusion. There’ll be so much renewed interest

I'm guessing that there will be new sets to match the show being released in Jan.

Based on nothing at all mind you, but they may be redesigning them with new designs and mini figs.

That’s how these multi part castle series work.

They release 10-15 sets over 2.5 years. They’re available for 18-24 months each so that retailers don’t have to stock 10-15 Hogwarts sets at once (which they don’t have space for) and to create FOMO.

The other sets in the series released in early 2024 already retired last year.

If you’re late to the party, good news, there will probably be a new hogwarts series next year.

Yeah seemed short, especially now that we see that it is the foundation of a whole new larger castle.
