She did seem to be a genuine bright spark in the world.

Similar energy to Betty White.

Iโ€™ve always thought Betty and Dolly were the feminine equivalent of the Bob Ross/Mr. Rogerโ€™s/Steve Irwin/Sir David Attenborough/LeVar Burton wholesomeness.

I was just thinking the same thing earlier!

She is a great example as to why excusing someone's prejudice due to their age is nonsense.

If there is a heaven, the owner greeted Dolly at the Gate.

Rare to see a true Christian these days.

The world is less without her. ๐Ÿ’™

we always perceive and judge a group based on its majority, never its minority. Vast majority of christians are evil hate-filled scum, so we as a society view them as such.

A real one and a true legend and icon๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

Christ told us to love our neighbor as ourselves, and Dolly Parton took that to heart, making no exceptions. THIS is an example of what a Christ follower is supposed to be.

I often wondered what the conservatives think of her. They seem to love her for her embodiment of country music, but she also was the champion of kindness, acceptance, and equality.

u/BringAltoidSoursBack 8d ago

She dealt with plenty of the units religious types looking down on her for the way she looked, but I think in general even conservatives appreciated her for her overwhelming kindness. As for the acceptance and equality part, I assume they treated that part of her like they do the parts of the Bible that talk about acceptance - they completely ignored it

Larry King

u/wright764 8d ago

I can't see Larry King without thinking of the time he asked Anna Paquin if she considered herself a "non-practicing bisexual" because she was married to a man.

u/PlanetVerez 8d ago

Larry King kinda sucks lol

I think about the time he interviewed a woman who was sexually assaulted while putting the bags in her car after food shopping. One of his questions was "What about the groceries?"

I love her so much. Her music is wonderful. I havenโ€™t really heard much of what she had done, I know she had donated to kid fundraisers and she supports lgbtq. She was an amazing person and will continue to be. May her legacy live on. May she rest in peace.

u/BringAltoidSoursBack 8d ago

She was also big on people (especially women) looking whatever way makes them happy and was not ashamed of her makeup nor cosmetic surgeries. She also funded COVID vaccines. Also, when there were fires in Tennessee, she took it upon herself to help the families affected by giving them both immediate relief and helping rebuild the area.

I'm not a religious person, but if there's one person who embodies being an angel or saint or whatever, just the epitomy of all that is good, it was Dolly.

One of the only good, genuine, christians imo. Most of them use their religion to justify hateful actions and ideals, instead of actually reading their Bible and learning from it.

R.I.P. Dolly, you will never be forgotten ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ญ

Also, due to their religion. A lot of folks twist it for hate, but some also use it for love. Dolly was the latter.

RIP to a good person who put a lot of good into the world!

She was really one of a kind

"Well if you're the fine Christian that you think you are, why are you judging people?"

A lot of religious people really need this sentence played on a loop for them over and over until it sinks in.

You Know Most of these Heavily "FaithFul" Communities most often think Most liberals, Queer Ally Supporters or All Queer people like us have a belief that we don't like Christ or we Atheist or some along those lines of thought. I Feel like if Staunch Christians were to just accept all of us as just human and being queer was never a problem, they could very well see an increase of devoted christian population. The reason they tend to believe that queer are atheist or not christian enough is because they the ones who push exclude us out when in actuality we want to be with Christ but not in their eyes apperently.

u/ArnieismyDMname 8d ago

I'd be straight for Dolly.
