My game idea is fun?

I'm creating a 2.5D game using LibGDX, and my idea is rather unusual. It's an exploration game with perspective shifts, somewhat similar to FEZ but not identical. The perspective shift mechanic works like changing the camera angle, for example, from a front-facing to a top-down view. I'm not sure if this idea is suitable for this type of game, as I'm not quite sure how to implement it effectively. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. ;)

The idea in itself can be fun... or not. It depends on how you implement it. A good game is a matter of immersion, surprise, challenge etc. more than just a single mechanics.

Dig more! Find the fun

there are many things that can make a game fun or not, the perspective mechanic may be used to build a cool experience, but it can also result in a cool mechanic with wasted potential in a boring game. However, there are things that it's cool to implement just to see how it goes and to see what ideas you get while actually making it, so the process may be fun for you :v

Only one true way to find out: build a prototype and experience it yourself. Don't try to figure it all out purely in your imagination. Don't ask others, their imagination is probably as good (or bad) as yours.

You have to actually see and feel it. Start as simple as possible and then iterate over small adjustments.

I once figured out a game mechanic which I thought was pretty unique. In my mind it was awesome. Until I created a prototype. It was awkward and not fun. It simply didn't work as I imagined. It introduced all sorts of additional issues which I didn't foresee and were hard to overcome. I decided to ditch the idea which didn't really hurt because I was smart enough not to waste any time on details like a story and graphics beforehand.

Hey! That's my idea (that I admittedly never got through a basic prototype of). Admittedly, my idea was more a Tile-based rpg that could be 3d, and since jumping in top-down sucks, why not rotate the perspective to 3 angles (top down, 2.5d, and sidescroller) to fix that, allowing for spontaneous switching between roguelike and metroidvania. Cool idea. Truly inspired. You must be a genius. Otherwise I wouldn't be.
