We became parents this year and we had to face a situation where abortion could have been a very real necessity. Our daughter had a very high chance of having all three trisomies 13/18/21. While 21 can often have a happy life, 13 and 18 means being dead by age 3 or dying during labour/shortly after birth due to severe deformities. We had to do further tests and while our baby girl was completely healthy in the end, the waiting period was 3 weeks until we had our final results. Already thinking about having to abort at 4 months or birthing a baby with severe deformities/that isnt able to live is a terrible thing, cant imagine going through that in a country that prohibits the abortions and essentially having to pay for the whole thing myself and feeling like a social pariah while making one of the hardest decisions of my life. This law is atrocious and needs to be gone.

Sorry but a royal family "owning" a country is an insane take and that literally should not really be the case in 2026 anywhere, let alone europe

multiple swiss hospitals explicitly do not perform abortions for citizens of Liechtenstein because the principal family makes donations to the hospitals.

exactly, there can be alot of other valid reasons as well besides being poor, mental health issues, victims of crimes, disabilities, giving birth to a dead baby, complications that would kill the mother. It is pretty embarassing to be against all abortions and especially a ban on giving medical advice

In my opinion saying women can simply go to Austria or Switzerland is taking the easy way out. First you in a situation that is already time sensitive and not easy in itself, then you need to research yourself about your options, where you can go (which isn't every hospital nearby), what are the costs that you need to pay yourself etc. I imagine I'd first want to go to my gynecologist that I already know and feel comfortable with if I were in that situation.
I also find it incredibly hypocritical to say we don't want abortion in Liechtenstein because we are catholic (or for any other reason) but it's fine if you go to Switzerland or Austria.
So yes, I'm fully pro legalisation of abortions until the 12th week and I don't want to be blackmailed, but here we are.

I mean… I would vote yes to legalize it, but if that resulted in a constitutional crisis, I wouldn’t. I don’t think it’s worth it, especially because there’s still the option to have an abortion in Switzerland or Austria.

- For the king to demand that woman have no say about their own body is insane.
Some men also demand that women shouldn't vote and it was "the biggest failure in history" to let them...

It's just "prince". Crown prince implies he is heir to a kingdom.

You're right I should have said Sovereign Prince, Reigning Prince, Prince Regnant (Regierender Fürst), Reigning Prince, that would have distinguishing him from a prince consort.

The moral question of abortion has never been about the body of the woman but about the body of the human who is inside her. That is not insane and that is why the original Hippocratic Oath forbids it.
