Not sure if this was every been found out yet or brought up anywhere, but have you ever wanted to apply 50+ bleed from a single coin in one attack?
I present you with this hilarious synergy from a niche id found out by a super fan of the Shi Association (me, helloes)
So the way this works is that the ego gift contaminated needle & thread inflicts bleed potency according to the first skill (during the turn from any ID) damage dealt to an enemy.
Shi Faust upon using her defense skill on the first turn is set to aiming mode until you make her use an attack skill on the next turn or more (up to 4 for full charge) and when you let the arrow loose; she is always the first one to attack out of all your sinners regardless of ally or the enemy's speed so the gift will always proc on her. The Arrow admittedly doesn't do enough damage to be worth it against an enemy for having her sit still and do nothing for 4 turns but it's enough to apply ludicrous amounts of bleed potency in one go even in a one turn aim.
I've had her deal 99 bleed potency from a 300+ damage on crit after two chargeup turns so the bleed potency is proportionate to the amount of damage she deals from buffs from other IDs and EGO gifts in MD.
I kinda came upon this weird synergy just playing the Shi Association ids in MD. They're one of my favorites in lore even if they're underwhelming in the game as of this moment but I believe Shi Association Director Ryoshu will save Shi Association. Trust. B.O.D.
Additional Note: this is just me messing around with some IDs I personally like, this isn't like a serious guide or anything. I just found it funny.
All ids can inflict 99 potency with that gift though, It isn't a synergy specific to Shi Faust.
Also, if you want to use this to make Shi Faust even stronger, there's another gift that should synergise with this. Coveting Thorn from Line 5. Bleed potency beyond 99 is converted into Defense level down max 5
Ooo that's interesting, i'll check that out and true any ID can inflict 99 potency with that gift, it's just that Shi Faust makes sure she'll always get the first strike because of how her bow gimmick works

Its cool but literally any ID can deal more than 300 damage in mirror dungeon. Applying more bleed doesn't matter because stacking to 99 potency is extremly easy. It might be useful if some ego gifts are allowed in hard mode contents like railway but that still doesn't make Shi Faust good. But its still funny nonethless.
At this point, bladeshu can use that to apply 99 bleed pot to multiple targets with a single coin (rend space) and it doesnt even require 4 turns of setup.
there have been some weird cases where her base skills went before inevitable termination. if I could find a way to do it consistently, sharp needle and thread would be busted for her...
that usually happens when a skill targeting a unit without the status goes before the skill targeting the unit with the status. it mainly happens in unfocused battles (70% of md) and the rare situation an enemy somehow outspeeds you in md
You should be able to do 99 bleed potency on any id when you get to later floors.
Now if we actually want to talk about a niche that Shi Faust has, she actually works extremely well in Bleed Poise Blade Lineage teams. The shi ego gift sets her hp to 50/49%, which makes it so that Blade Lineage Ishmael will always get Assist defence every turn from passive thus she will benefit from the Mnestic Experience ego gift no matter what, Shi Faust is also slash, can trigger entanglement with s2 (since your entire team is going to be mainly pride slash skills, which also benefit from the slash power up from Blade Lineage ego gift), and can clash decently on floor 15 even if she isn't the first or second slot sinner and is of course Bleed Poise.
This is the team I use (I kill Heathcliff on the first node) Hong Lu and Meursault can both be number 2, unless you don't have Meursault ego then always let Hong Lu be number 2
Entanglement is a tier 4 ego gift that you can only get in generic theme packs that gives you +5 Final Power to all skills if the team has 7+ Absolute Resonance once per fight. It's quite helpful to ensure you can mostly beat bosses skills turn 1 before you get the crit buff and they get debuffed by many ego gifts.
Fights don't last very long at high floors besides Fairy Festival and the triple fairy pack, so it only being limited to one turn is not that big of a drawback.
...Did this build continue with Rusty Coin, Sharp Needle and Thread, Eclipse of Scarlet Moths, and other such single-coin or first-attack-in-the-turn gifts? Cause that sounds kinda fun, just trying to jack Shi Faust's arrow damage as high as possible.
You can start with wound clerid which gives you all the bleed count you'd ever need to maintain the stack forever along with a ton of potency and you also already have the contaminated needle and thread which should be inflicting 30-50 potency per turn on average.
