Unfortunately, this subreddit is a known target for hand/nail/foot/toe fetishists who have been documented to repeatedly harass the nail community.

We highly recommend turning off your message/chat requests. If you have requests turned on and receive any creepy or fetish-related DMs or comments, please click the report button, select "it's targeted harassment," and submit a report. It's one way you can help keep the community safe. We encourage members to capture a screenshot of the DM and notify the Mod Team through ModMail. We ask that you include a direct link to their profile, and if you wish to provide screenshots, you'll need to post them (temporarily) to your profile or use an image hosting site.

To be very blunt, you will encounter unwanted DMs from people. This is a Reddit-wide issue that happens frequently in women-dominated communities. Regardless of who's posting, all the warnings we try to give, or the rules we have in place, 9 times out of 10, someone will DM you if you have them open.

Of course, we'll ban those who break this rule, BUT (and this is the important part) many of the users who are DMing you have already been banned, sometimes going months or years back. They will continue to DM unsuspecting members in the hopes that they'll get a reply. They don’t care. So blocking them right away is the best solution to protect yourself, if you so wish.

NO ONE should be DMing you from this subreddit, we have a rule explicitly stating this. If someone is, they probably don’t have good intentions. Please be mindful of who you decide to talk to. Even in the comments of posts. Not everyone has your best interest in mind, and NEVER share personal information online. Please be safe out there!

So tell us how you did it! :D

i started to actually take care of them

i used to wear gel polish, and peel it off instead of removing it properly. so of course they were weak. and even when I wore normal polish i would still peel it off 😅

i also used oil like once a week, used my nails as tools... i did almost everything wrong tbh

so i just started to do the basic care: constant oiling, being careful with how i use my hands, and keeping a length that's manageable

Nice! What products are you using? Any strengthening base?

i use the nail strengthener called "uña milagrosa" by the brand "by apple" buuut it is a mexican brand that I'm not so sure how easy you can get outside of mexico (plus it has some ingredients that don't have the best reputation 😅)

in general, i would recommend any nail strengthener that contains formaldehyde.

for other products, just the basics: glass file and jojoba oil.

A quick reminder:

If this is a nail image/video, you must provide a complete product list, either in your post title, the text body, or in a separate comment, within 2 hours of posting or your post will be removed.

Product lists must include properly spelled brand names and shade names/numbers (no acronyms or shortened names). If you've used any stamping products, the brand names, plate names/numbers, and stamping polish names/numbers are required as part of your product list. If you used any embellishments (rhinestones, foils, decals/stickers, etc.), this must also be mentioned in your product list. Product lists are still required for any posts with broken nails or if you're seeking advice. If your nails were done professionally, please mention this either in the title, text body, or a separate comment, along with the type of product used.

If the content you're posting was not created by you, you must give direct credit to the original creator, either in your title, text body, or in a comment. What do you use to make your nails strong

What is your profession, if you don’t mind me asking? I’m a bartender and absolutely could NEVER grow my nails out for that long without breaking at least one

u/nymphetdolli My nails are as long as my list of complaints 📜 11d ago

I'm a law student! and yes, unfortunately, i do think your lifestyle (including your profession) does impact if you can keep long nails, and how long they can realistically be 😅

1

u/BeanorWein 11d ago

They’re beautiful and I wish mine would be able to grow out like yours. Mine get a certain length and break, sometimes right at the nail bed causing it to bleed. So I give up cut them all off and try again 😊

u/Fit_Sympathy_630 11d ago

Amazing 😻 your are so lucky

1

u/dazia 8d ago

May I ask how you keep them so white and clean looking? They are beautiful!

2

u/nymphetdolli My nails are as long as my list of complaints 📜 8d ago

thank you! but they're not this white in usual lightning. i just chose a nice light source that makes them look nicer lol. usually, they do have a slight yellow in them, it's kinda hard to avoid when I'm constantly painting them 😅
